Get ready for a Chinese-style social credit system scoring when it comes to your personal spending habits and how they impact “climate change.” A new credit card called Doconomy, has launched that is “working in tight collaboration with Mastercard” and an alliance with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is now available so you can monitor your personal CO2 budget on every purchase you make.
The new CO2 monitoring Mastercard called Doconomy debuted in order to enable “all users to track, measure and understand their impact by presenting their carbon footprint on every purchase.” The credit cards feature the slogan on them reading “DO. Everyday Climate Action” and have a personal pledge on the rear of the card boasting: “I am taking responsibility for every transaction I make to help protect the planet.” The Mastercards feature the UN “Global Climate Action” logo on them as well.
The World Economic Forum praised Doconomy. “While many of us are aware that we need to reduce our carbon footprint, advice on doing so can seem nebulous and keeping a tab is difficult. DO monitors and cuts off spending, when we hit our carbon max,” the World Economic Forum wrote on the Doconomy CO2 monitoring website.
The Doconomy credit card website explains: “With fat, sugar and salt levels labeled on food we buy, why shouldn’t our CO2 emissions be just as visible?” asks the Doconomy website. “This type of information shouldn’t be a premium or luxury that consumers pay for, but rather an essential part of every shopping journey.” The website details how the credit card will help consumers “understand their impact by presenting their carbon footprint on every purchase.”
Mathias Wikström, the CEO of Doconomy, explained, “Reducing carbon emissions needs to be prioritized by all parties. At Doconomy we are proud to engage and educate around our lifestyle’s impact on the planet…The financial sector has developed a tremendous efficiency. Now that same force can address the planetary fragility.”
This new CO2 monitoring credit card follows on the heels of the new study in the Journal Nature in August 2021 calling for “personal carbon allowances” that would monitor individuals’ CO2 emissions through smart meters and tracking apps.
Doconomy’s new CO2 monitoring card boasts that it has started “providing 90 million consumers with carbon footprint insights.” The credit card was launched with the aim of “educating all consumers around climate impact information as a first step towards driving awareness around the climate crisis.” The Doconomy CO2 credit card website claims it is the “largest initiative ever taken by a bank in educating its users on the impact of consumption.”
“Working in tight collaboration with Mastercard, setting a global standard for carbon calculations on everyday transactions, and other frontrunners like Klarna in banking, Doconomy aims to reach 1 billion users by COP26 in November,” the Doconomy CO2 credit card website explains.
“Companies, consumers and communities must work together to make the significant changes needed to effectively address climate change” said Jorn Lambert, Mastercard Chief Digital Officer. “The Mastercard Carbon Calculator informs consumers about the carbon footprint of their purchases, so that they can make more mindful spending decisions and contribute to forest restoration. By embedding sustainability in the very fabric of our business, we can unlock the power of our network, reaching billions of consumers and partners, to create positive change for the environment,” Lambert added.
Niclas Svenningsen, Manager, Global Climate Action at the UN Climate Change secretariat praised the CO2 monitoring credit card. “What’s really key here is the availability of information. One certainly can’t expect people to change their behaviors and take climate action if they do not know what their climate footprint is or what their consumption represents. With this data now easily accessible thanks to the partners’ excellent work, citizens are empowered to make smart decisions and act responsibly, and it can provoke a significant cultural shift around climate action,” Svennigsen wrote.
HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?
The Government in the UK is reportedly considering introducing a new toll system for all roads for the purpose of fighting climate change. The road pricing system if put in place will likely give 3,00 miles free per year, with the toll price kicking in after that point, with an extra 1,000 miles given to those in rural areas. Some have warned that the road pricing system “would probably use vehicle tracking technology to monitor” how much people in the UK drive.
The alarming push to place limitations on freedoms and disincentives on citizens to fight “climate change” should be concerning. Such moves might have received more pushback prior to society becoming desensitized to similar overreach by both governments and companies.
“Personally, I find the possibility of “climate lockdowns” both frightening and intriguing,” Fiorazo wrote, “but [I] just can’t imagine enough people buying into the climate hype and fear-mongering let alone going along with the charade – but then again I could be wrong. I also never would have thought freedom-loving American citizens would buy into the science fraud and media malpractice that led to the COVID lockdowns.”
Fiorazo explained that “vitally important concepts of freedom and limited government” have become lost to many. However, Fiorazo urged Christian to understand that what we are facing is a spiritual battle, adding that current developments “indicate the return of our King is getting close.”
“Remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but forces of darkness driving this,” he stated. “Some are deceived, others are deceivers. Friends, be watchful, hold the line and stay strong in the fight. Opposition is growing, but the remnant of true believers is getting stronger. And all signs indicate the return of our King is getting close.”
When humans look at God’s creation, the response should be reverence to the One who created it. Romans 1:19-20 explains that the incredible creations of God cause man to be without excuse in His existence. This same chapter, however, states that our culture has deliberately chosen a very different path in their collective rebellion against God: Worshiping the creation, rather than the creator (Romans 1:25).
As we as a generation of inhabitants of Planet Earth pierce ever more deeply into the end of the age, the picture of the emerging Tribulation world order comes into view. Presently that view is in the process of tightening into high-definition focus.
We adjust the knobs of that focus with our book “LAWLESS: The End-Times War Against the Spirit of Antichrist.” I begin the book in my introduction with the following:
Planet earth needs a savior. This declaration is at the center of the demand by true believers that all people of this endangered sphere must acknowledge. Those deniers—nonbelievers—are branded as heretics. Those in denial of this unimpeachable assertion deserve to be, at the very least, incarcerated for their denial.
This mantra is central to the religious fervor of today. But, it is not the religious fervor of those who adhere to truth found in God’s Word, the Bible. The zealots who hold to this theology are, from heaven’s perspective, lawless in their anti-God demands. The elitists in government and the news and entertainment media who believe man is destroying the planet and only man can stop the destruction. There is no God to be considered in the controls they intend to exert.
And it is indeed religious zealotry. It is for certain a theological mantra that festers at the lawless hearts of those who rave about climate change and mankind destroying the planet through wanton disregard for the welfare of Mother Earth.
Mother Earth worship is the central unifying concept the father of lies has perpetrated that fits propitiously within this spirit of Antichrist model. Branding against deniers of climate change as being the worst sinners within the religion of humanism is designed to make Christianity appear to be a false worship system. This is because the Bible declares that Jesus Christ, who is the very Word of God (John 1:1–3), is who has this earthly orb in His grip. It is not man who controls planet earth.
This, of course, is antithesis to the unimpeachable declarations of the environmental gurus who say man is destroying the earth with greenhouse gases from carbon emission. Only man, himself, through draconian actions to stop these deadly gases, can save himself from choking to death from unbreathable air or drowning because of the melting ice of the North and South poles.
