Looking Forward To Christ’s Return: A Spiritual Litmus Test

Greg Laurie

Are you looking forward to the day when Christ returns? Does the thought of Jesus coming back at any moment cause your heart to leap with excitement? Or does it sink with dread? I think your response is a good litmus test of your spiritual character.

If your life is right with God, then I think youโ€™ll welcome it when you hear that Christ could come back at any moment. You will rejoice in it. Like the apostle John, you will say as he did, โ€œEven so, come, Lord Jesus!โ€ (Revelation 22:20)

Writing to Timothy, the apostle Paul described those who were looking forward with great anticipation to the return of Jesus Christ. He was speaking of believers who are leading lives that are right before God, believers who are living lives that are honoring to Godโ€”believers who are ready for the return of Christ.

If that describes you, then the promise that was given to Paul is for you as well: โ€œFinally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearingโ€ (2 Timothy 4:8).

Do you love His appearing? By that I mean, are you truly ready for the Lordโ€™s return? If so, it will impact the way you live. Weโ€™re told in 1 John 3:3, โ€œAnd everyone who has this hope in Him [the hope of Christโ€™s return] purifies himself, just as He is pure.โ€ This simply means that youโ€™re living a life that is right. Youโ€™re prepared. Youโ€™re looking forward with anticipation to the return of Jesus Christ.

If youโ€™re living that way, then God promises you a crown of righteousness in that final day.

Class Is In Session: Since Minnesota’s Attorney General Doesn’t Understand The Law… Let Me Explain It

For those watching the attorney generalโ€™s response after protestors barged into a church last Sunday and disrupted a worship service, this probably doesnโ€™t surprise you. In Minnesota, you donโ€™t have to be a lawyer โ€” or even know the law โ€” to be attorney general. Even though he is an attorney, that helps explain how Keith Ellison got the job without a) knowing the law, or b) being able to read it. Itย isย beyond you, Mr. Ellison โ€” so let me help you out. Class is in session.

Christians Can Not Allow The Tiny Flame Of Holocaust Memory To Be Extinguished

In our day and age, our worse enemies like online antisemite Nick Fuentes compare the Jews to cookies going into ovens. Others say the Shoah (the catastrophe) never happened or was just exaggerated as propaganda for the Jews to start the State of Israel. Even within our friends and within the evangelical church, there are people who think that six million was too high a number. I lost my grandfather, murdered in Auschwitz. If you ask me...One was too high a number!

In An Ever Darkening World, We Can Find Solace In Bible Prophecy

The bright side of the growing evil in the world is that it is a sure sign that we are living in the season of the Lordโ€™s return. If you will check Genesis 6, you will find that Noahโ€™s society was characterized by violence and immorality. This is the reason that the great pastor, Adrian Rogers (1931-2005), once said, โ€œThe world is growing gloriously dark.โ€ How can the acceleration of evil be considered โ€œgloriousโ€? Because it is a sign of the imminent return of Jesus.
