Jack Hibbs: God Never Changes, But We Must

Change is a constant in life, but it can sometimes feel unnerving. Instinctively, we tend to draw our circle a little tighter for comfort’s sake, but if we do, we become resistant to the dynamics that living for Christ demands.

When a new endeavor or challenge presents itself, are you skeptical, hesitant, or unsure? I have learned that those times of risk-taking and venturing out into the unknown are stretching, significant moments that help define who we are today. The world touts the false premise of evolution as an agent of change. But I submit that when a child of God surrenders to His work in their life, something real and powerful occurs.

God never changes, but we must if we are going to remain spiritually healthy and productive. The unchanging nature of His character and His promises provide the constant we need when He says, “It’s time for you to get up and go” or “Get up and do.”

I encourage you to read about Abraham and Sarah beginning in Genesis, chapter 12. Those Old Testament saints are a perfect example of trusting God through change and the unimaginable possibilities of what can happen when one does. The Lord even gave them new names to reflect the reality of what He would accomplish through them!

I pray that if you face the challenge of change today, you will accept it and use it for God’s glory. You don’t want to miss what He has in store for you.

Trump Should Be Commended Acting Against Iran — Not Because It Was Popular, But Because It Was Justified

If there has been a justifiable war since World War II, this may be it. This is not defending oil-rich countries made wealthy by American dependence. This is confronting a direct threat to our security and to that of our natural ally, Israel. President Trump should be commended for taking the regime at its word and responding — not because it was politically popular, but because it was justified, militarily and morally.

Few Subjects Expose The Tension Between Biblical Conviction And Cultural Pressure More Clearly Than Israel

Does our view of Israel really matter? Yes—because it relates to the credibility of Scripture and the character of God. A theology that redefines God’s promises inevitably reshapes how His people are viewed. The conviction that God will yet fulfill His promises to Israel is not political; it is Biblical. And in a world where antisemitism is again rising, it is a conviction Christians cannot afford to surrender.
