Israel Summons Russian Envoy After Labeling The Jewish State As Mideast ‘Problem’

The Russian Ambassador to Israel was summoned Wednesday for a meeting by Israel’s Foreign Ministry following scathing comments he made against the Jewish state.

Israel’s Head of the Political-Strategic Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Alon Bar, rejected outright and strongly protested Anatoly Viktorov’s remarks published in an interview with the Jerusalem Post.

In a statement released to the media, Bar emphasized that the Russian diplomat’s claims are not compatible with the reality in the Middle East.

He further clarified Israel’s stance on the matter and expressed Israel’s expectations that discourse on regional issues will be conducted through diplomatic channels only.

Jerusalem expects dialogue with Moscow to “relate to reality and the threats Israel faces, and not to outrageous and dangerously false illusions, as is and has been customary thus far between the two countries,” the statement read.

On Tuesday, the Jerusalem Post published a lengthy interview with Viktorov, in which he pointed to the Jewish state as the “problem” in the Middle East — not Iran.

He further suggested that Jerusalem’s ignoring of the Palestinians is the root cause for the region’s instability.

“It’s a lack of understanding between countries and noncompliance with UN resolutions in the Israel-Arab and Israel-Palestinian conflict” that destabilizes the region, he added.

A Growing Hostility Toward Jesus’ Return… From The Church?

I recently received an email from a woman who detailed how her church has become hostile to those of us anticipating Jesus’ return. Scoffers increase every year as we get closer to Christ's return—despite the signs of the times exploding, which should serve as a wake-up call for how late the hour is. The email I received also described denigrating names that were being given to people like her who were looking up, awaiting Jesus’ return—names like “End Times Eddie,” “Apocalyptic Anita,” or “Doom and Gloom June.” I wish I were making this up! This is just one more church saying, “Come Lord Jesus… but not too soon.”

Demonizing The Jewish State: Why Australia’s Attempts To Tackle Antisemitism Are Falling Disturbingly Short

Many attempt to mask their antisemitism by claiming that anti-Zionism is merely impassioned criticism of a nation that just happens to be Jewish. By claiming Zionism is a “modern colonial ideology” they attempt to legitimise Palestinian ownership of the land at the expense of Jewish self-determination in the ancestral Jewish homeland. The simple equation in the anti-Zionist mind is that if Zionism is indeed colonial, then the State of Israel is illegitimate. But what most people refuse to accept is that the Jewish people do not just have a legal and historical right to the land, they have a biblical claim to it as their national homeland as well.

Will America Last Another 250 Years?

Looking back, there can be no denying that God has indeed shed His grace—His unmerited favor—on our land, from sea to shining sea. But does our national “soul” encourage self-control? Do our laws champion ordered liberty? Is our success tempered with nobleness? Is brotherhood the defining characteristic of any good we aspire to reflect? By all of those measures, America seems decidedly adrift. We are drifting farther and farther from Nature’s God—the Ruler of the Universe our Founders called upon and credited with for our celebrated independence.
