‘We Exposed The Iranian Terror Machine Operating In Yemen,’ Danon Says

Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, hit back at Iran on Thursday after the Islamic Republic denied responsibility for arming the Houthi rebels in Yemen with ballistic missiles and other advanced weaponry.

“I am not surprised that the Iranian representative was distressed when we exposed the Iranian terror machine operating in Yemen,” he stated. “The Islamic Republic is the last nation that can preach morality—this is a regime that finances, arms and operates terrorist groups that are setting the Middle East aflame.”

“We do not shy away from threats and will not remain silent in the face of Iranian attempts at incitement and lies,” he said. “When the Iranian regime creates chaos and manipulates proxies into terrorist puppets, we will continue to protect our citizens and stand up to any threat with determination and strength.”

On Monday, Iran’s U.N. representative, Amir Saeid Iravani, wrote to the U.N. Security Council and António Guterres, the U.N. secretary-general, to accuse Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom of trying to “scapegoat” Iran at a Security Council meeting about Yemen earlier that day.

“Accusations of Iranian interference in the Red Sea are baseless fabrications designed to inflame tensions and serve as a pretext for further destabilization of the region by the United States and its allies,” Iravani wrote. “The Security Council must not be swayed by Israel’s propaganda, which seeks to divert attention from the ongoing atrocities and ethnic cleansing by this apartheid regime in Gaza.”

He added that Iran “categorically denies” violating a U.N. arms embargo on the Houthis and said that accusations that Iran was interfering in Yemen were “baseless fabrications.”

Barbara Woodward, the U.K. ambassador to the United Nations, said on Monday that Iran’s role in backing the Houthis is “clear.”

“Iran bears responsibility for the actions of its proxies, and it must cease its illegal activity which is destabilizing the region and threatening international peace and stability,” she said. “Its longstanding financial and military support to the Houthis has enabled and exacerbated Houthi aggression.”

In his speech to the council on Monday, Danon said that if the Houthis don’t cease their attacks on Israel, they will be eliminated, just as Israel killed the leaders of other terrorist groups that threatened the Jewish state.

“Let this be your final warning,” Danon said. “This is not a threat, it is a promise: You will share the same miserable fate.”

Analysis — Double Standards, Devastation, And Diplomatic Games

It was a study of contrasts in Israel this past week. Prime Minister Netanyahu experienced a boon to his life as he is recovering well having undergone surgery on his prostate on Sunday. The same cannot be said of his political rival, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who experienced the death of his political career when he submitted his letter of resignation from the Knesset yesterday. He will not be missed.

It’s time everyone stops talking about potential hostage deals. Despite the rhetoric that Hamas spews out, a deal will never happen because they don’t want one to happen. They know that as soon as they release the hostages, their time is up. The only leverage these broken-down, barely breathing barbarians have are the innocent lives of the people they stole from southern Israel 15 months ago. So, they’ll say whatever they need to say to win the hearts of a world that is desperate to find a reason to love them and hate Israel. But their words are disingenuous, so the fighting will go on.

As evidence of the continued hostilities, Hamas suffered a devastating defeat late Sunday night. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) received intelligence that a large group of terrorists were planning to attack their forces in order to break out of Jabaliya. The IDF struck and by the end of the night 106 Hamas terrorists were dead.

If that sounds harsh to you, just remember that 600 people were beheaded on October 7. They weren’t enemy combatants. They were innocent children, along with their mothers and fathers. These were the actions that Hamas and their compatriots took that horrific day. Recently, it’s come out that the terrorist group spent seven years planning the October 7 attack. Seems they should have spent a little more time strategizing for October 8 and thereafter.

Hundreds Call For Intifada In Times Square: 'There Is Only One Solution'

Several hundred demonstrators called for an intifada on Wednesday at an anti-Israel protest in New York City’s Times Square to mark New Year’s Day.

Attendees chantedResistance is glorious — we will be victorious,” “We will honor all our martyrs, andGaza, you make us proud. They carried signs that saidZionism is cancer,” “No war on Iran, andEnd all US aid to Israel.”

“There is only one solution — Intifada revolution, they chanted, using a common refrain at anti-Israel rallies in the US.Intifada,Arabic foruprising,is associated with the Second Intifada, a period of terror attacks in Israel in the early 2000s marked by suicide bombings.

Speakers at the Wednesday rally urged attendees to recommit to anti-Israel activism in the new year.

“2024 was a year of struggle against the crime of Zionism,a speaker told the crowd. We will be here every single year for generation after generation until total liberation and return.”

The Times Square protest was organized by socialist and anti-Israel groups including the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the People’s Forum.

Hundreds of anti-Israel protests have taken place in New York City since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. Demonstrators regularly protest in central locations on holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Fourth of July.

Wednesday’s protest mirrored a demonstration held on October 8, 2023, the day after the Hamas invasion, when hundreds of anti-Israel and socialist activists gathered in Times Square to celebrate the attack on Israelis.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in the hall of the Israeli parliament on Tuesday for a crucial budget-related vote, despite the objections of doctors following prostate surgery on Sunday night, TPS-IL, The Press Service of Israel reports.

Netanyahu, 75, was accompanied to the Knesset Plenum by his personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Berkowitz and appeared in good spirits as he took his seat for a brief appearance.

The Israeli leader went under the knife on Sunday to have his prostate removed after suffering a infection, which had reportedly “stemmed from a benign enlargement of his prostate,” according to Netanyahu’s office.

Day 453 — Wednesday, January 1

IDF Soldiers Trapped And Killed 106 Hamas Terrorists In Two Hours In Northern Gaza

The IDF and Israeli media outlets published stunning new details of one of the most successful nights the Israeli forces have had since the start of the war, with the troops killing 106 Hamas terrorists in the span of around two hours, without losing a single soldier.

“It was the most significant night we remember in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip,a military source told Army Radio, whose correspondent Doron Kadosh reported the details of the overnight fighting.

The operation followed the end of the siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, where the IDF captured over 240 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists.

On Sunday evening, the Israeli army received intelligence that terrorists planned a large-scale attack on Israeli forces, aiming to break out of the besieged Jabaliya camp and possibly intending to flee northern Gaza toward the south.

The attack was planned for later in the night, to use the darkness and the heavy rain as cover. After receiving the early warning, the Israeli army set up hidden ambushes, in turn, using the cover of darkness to hide large forces waiting for the terrorists.

Around 11 a.m., the first reports of various terrorist squads approaching Israeli troops reached the division commander. The troops began firing with small arms and tanks, and also directed drone strikes against the terrorists.

The terrorists mostly moved in small squads, some armed with AK-47 rifles, while others only wore military vests.

IDF soldiers fighting in Gaza have consistently recounted that most terrorists in Gaza walk around unarmed, using the numerous weapon caches hidden in civilian homes to arm themselves when needed.

Soldiers of the Givati and the 401st Armored Brigades took part in the ambush, each killing dozens of terrorists. The Multi-Dimensional Unit (also dubbed Ghost Unit) even managed the rare capture of a terrorist amid the fighting.

The largest attempted attack came late at night, when some 30 terrorists attempted to flank a position of Givati’s Shaked Battalion. In the morning, the soldiers found 16 bodies from this battle alone.

The 52nd Battalion of the 401st Brigade counted a total of 24 bodies of terrorists they eliminated in several clashes, all of whom IDF intelligence identified as known Hamas operatives.

At the end of the night, the IDF Southern Command counted 106 terrorists killed, while two surrendered and were taken captive, a rare occurrence in recent clashes in Gaza.

While the night ambush was an operational success, the fact that over 100 terrorists attempted a possibly concerted attack, even while the IDF claims its operations in northern Gaza to almost be completed, raises difficult questions.

“After two and a half months of fighting in just this one urban area, there are so many terrorists left. What does this tell us about how hard it is to clear other areas?wrote Seth Frantzman, an adjunct fellow at the Foundation for Freedom of Democracies.

“When this began it was already the third raid into Jabalia. I’ve actually been to this area twice with the IDF over the last year. The assessment was already that thebattalionsin this area were dismantled a year ago,Frantzman noted.

“When the IDF returned in October 2024 around 70,000 civilians had to be evacuated and several thousand terrorists were found there, many eliminated or detained. And yet it goes on and on, in just this one area,he added.

According to Army Radio, one of the captured terrorists said he was part of a squad of more than 10 operatives. The IDF is currently investigating whether several squads separately decided to use the bad weather for an escape attempt, or whether this was indeed a concerted, pre-planned attack.

The IDF told Army Radio thatthe enemy in the sector is completely disintegrated, and estimates that only about 100-200 terrorists remain in the area, after killing some 2,500 and capturing around 1,950 more over the past months.

The IDF has made strident efforts to evacuate the civilian population in the area, and soldiers have not encountered any civilians on the streets there in recent months.

Despite the remaining questions, IDF reportedly assessed that it is approaching the completion of its operations in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Trump Reiterates Warning To Hamas: 'Let Me Put It This Way—They Better Let The Hostages Come Back Soon'

US President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a warning to Hamas, who is still holding 100 hostages in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump was asked by CNN’s Alayna Treene about his past comments that there will behell to payif the hostages are not returned by the time he assumes office on January 20.

“Let me put it this way: They better let the hostages come back soon, stated Trump.

Trump made the comments in question in a post on his Truth Social platform last month.

“Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk, and no action! Trump wrote.

“Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity. Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!he added.

Two weeks later, Trump said at a press briefing that he and his team are working to return the hostages being held in Gaza.

We’re trying to help very strongly in getting the hostages back, as you know, with Israel and the Middle East. We’re working very much on that,he stated at the time.

IDF Downs Ballistic Missile From Yemen As Sirens Heard Across Central Israel

Air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile launched at Israel from Yemen that triggered sirens across central Israel late Monday night, the military said, in the seventh such nighttime attack in less than two weeks.

The missile was intercepted before it crossed into Israeli airspace, the military said, and sirens sounded across the center of the country shortly after 11 p.m. for fear of falling debris.

There was no major damage as a result of the missile debris, although a large fragment crashed in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Alef neighborhood in the city of Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem.

At the scene of the impact on Nahal Hakishon Street, local residents, most of them ultra-Orthodox Jews, crowded around the remains of the Houthi missile.

Small children ran around in the rain and women pushed babies in strollers only meters from the fragment as police attempted to keep the crowd back.

“This is crazy. This is crazy,” one man kept telling his friend as they stood shoulder to shoulder at the scene.

“I was home in my apartment, running to the shelter as soon as I heard the siren with my wife, my mother-in-law and my baby,” Aaron Heideman, a visitor from Teaneck, New Jersey, told The Times of Israel as he stood and stared at the large metal object next to a splintered tree in the middle of the road.

“It’s crazy to see with my own eyes that this is real, this is serious. I always have faith in God so I’m not scared but it is surreal,” he added.

The missile launch also caused brief interruptions at Ben Gurion Airport, the Ynet news site reported, with arrivals and departures briefly halted due to fears of falling debris.

The Houthis in Yemen later took responsibility for the missile launch, and a top leader of the Iran-backed group vowed that similar attacks would be forthcoming.

“The pounding of the entity (Israel) continues and the support to Gaza continues,” Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, the head of the Houthis’ supreme revolutionary committee, said in a post on X after the Israeli military announced the missile interception.

Netanyahu Recovering From Surgery In Underground Care Unit

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is feeling well and his condition continues to improve, Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem reported on Monday.

The medical team treating him said tests showed normal and satisfactory function. Netanyahu was moved to an underground ward where he will continue his recovery in the coming days.

Netanyahu’s prostate surgery was deemed successful on Sunday evening. The prostate removal was necessary after Netanyahu underwent a test which revealed a sizeable benign growth on the prostate. He received antibiotic treatment to mitigate the infection.

Israel To Submit Report To The United Nations On 'Abhorrent' Hamas Torture Of Hostages

Israeli Health Ministry will submit a report, which details the “torture and atrocities experienced by Israeli hostages since Oct. 7” including “abhorrent instances of sexual violence,” in the “next few days” to Alice Jill Edwards, the U.N. special rapporteur on torture, the Israeli mission to the global body told JNS on Saturday.

“The United Nations and the international community are trying to forget the torture and atrocities that took place on Oct. 7,” stated Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations. “We will never forget the horrors and we will not stop until we return all the hostages home.”

The report will include “many testimonies of the hostages who returned from Hamas captivity” and “descriptions of the horrors Hamas terrorists inflicted on the hostages, including sexual abuse, starvation, neglect and humiliation,” the Israeli mission told JNS.

The Israeli Health Ministry stated that the report contains two parts.

“The first section details the neglect, abuse, torture and humiliation suffered by the hostages, who were released or rescued from captivity in Gaza, as well as the impact of these experiences on their physical and Physical and mental condition,” it said.

“The second section of the report discusses rehabilitation models that have been deemed appropriate for the returnees, drawing on data collected from primary care nurses, physicians and mental health professionals who have been providing ongoing care, including through specialized clinics for returnees,” it added.

Uriel Busso, the Israeli health minister, stated that the report “is a harrowing testimony to the brutal experiences suffered by the hostages in Hamas captivity—cruel violence, psychological abuse, physical torment and acts that defy comprehension.”

“These are actions that cannot be tolerated and demand that the world wake up and take action,” Busso stated. “The testimonies presented in this report serve as a wake-up call for the international community to apply increased pressure on Hamas and its supporters to free all the hostages without delay.”

“It is a moral and humanitarian imperative, and the time to act is running out,” Busso added.

“Women, men and children, who returned from captivity, reported that they endured severe physical and sexual abuse, such as beatings, isolation, deprivation of food and water, branding, hair-pulling and sexual assault,” the report states. “Additionally, some of them reported that the captors sexually assaulted them or forced them to undress.”

“The hostages were denied medical treatment for acute injuries caused during Oct. 7 and subsequently, in addition to for untreated chronic conditions. Fractures, shrapnel wounds and burns were treated inadequately, leading to complications which required additional surgeries, that could have been prevented with proper care,” it states. “Upon arrival in Israel, intensive treatment was given to the returned hostages.”

“The captors also tortured those injured by performing painful procedures without anesthesia,” it adds. “In one case a hostage died from untreated medical complications.”

35,000 Jews Have Immigrated To Israel Since Last Year's Hamas Oct 7 Terror Attack

Approximately 35,000 Jews worldwide have immigrated to the Jewish state since the Hamas Oct. 7 attack on Israel in 2023, according to a Jewish Agency report published on Sunday. The data revealed that Jewish immigrants hail from some 100 countries, with 31,000 moving to Israel in 2024.

Approximately one-third of the new immigrants were young people aged 18 to 35 and some have already enlisted with Israel Defense Forces.

The chairman of the Jewish Agency, Maj.-Gen. (Res.) Doron Almog welcomed the development by stressing the connection between Israel and Jews around the world.

“The Jewish Agency works to strengthen and revitalize the State of Israel in a variety of ways that are possible thanks to the connection we forge with diaspora Jews,Almog stated. This commitment, which has been felt so strongly since the October 7 massacre, is the source of strength for the healing of Israeli society.”

The Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis shocked millions of Jews and non-Jews all over the world. While Jewish immigration to Israel initially dropped after the October 2023 massacre, the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration reported in April that Diaspora Jews were increasingly interested in moving to the Jewish state.

“Since the start of the war, there has been a 300% increase in aliyah applications from France, a 150% jump from Canada, a 100% rise from the United States and a 40% increase from the United Kingdom, the Jewish News Syndicate reported last February.

The increase in Jewish immigration to Israel following Oct. 7 is attributed to rising global antisemitism and a strengthened sense of Jewish identity and connection to the Jewish state.

In February, a high-level executive at Nefesh B’Nefesh, an organization that is dedicated to facilitating North American Jewish immigration to Israel, predictedintensified Zionism and identification with Israelafter the October 7 attack would eventuallyspur a new wave of Aliyah (Jewish immigration to Israel) in the near future. The executive also predicted that 2024 would bea record year for North American Aliyah.”

A whopping 10,000 cases of antisemitism have been registered in the United States alone since Oct. 7, 2023, according to an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) report in October. This represents a 200% increase in antisemitic cases compared to the previous year.

Yaakov Hagoel, the chairman of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), recently reflected on the challenges for Zionists worldwide.

“Antisemitic incidents worldwide have surged dramatically. We are witnessing an eightfold increase in Antisemitic events, amounting to hundreds of such incidents per day globally. The most troubling issue is that many Jews in the diaspora are beginning to accept this situation as normal,” said Hagoel.

IDF Detains Hundreds Of Terrorists At Hamas Hospital Base

Security forces apprehended more than 240 terrorists in a targeted operation against a Hamas command center in Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said in a joint statement on Saturday.

Fifteen among those arrested at the command center in Jabalia infiltrated Israel during the Oct. 7, 2023 invasion, the IDF and Shin Bet said.

“Despite repeated calls to refrain from allowing terrorists to exploit hospitals for military activities, IDF and Shin Bet intelligence identified that terrorists were once again using Kamal Adwan Hospital as a command center for its military operations in Jabalia,” the statement read.

ׅ“Following this intelligence, the IDF conducted and completed a targeted operation against the Hamas terror stronghold inside Kamal Adwan Hospital,” the military and Shin Bet added.

The IDF’s 401st Brigade encircled Kamal Adwan Hospital and killed terrorists in the vicinity, with Shayetet 13 (“Flotilla 13”) naval commandos entering the hospital and locating and confiscating weapons in the area, including grenades, guns, munitions and other military equipment, the statement continued.

Outside the hospital, “terrorists fired anti-tank missiles and RPGs at the troops and attempted to carry out additional attacks against the troops. The troops swiftly eliminated the terrorists. In addition, the [Israeli Air Force] conducted strikes that eliminated terrorists attempting to flee the area. There were no IDF casualties,” the military said.

Some Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terrorist group members tried to pose as patients or flee in ambulances, according to the statement.

The hospital’s director, Hussam Abu Safiya, was taken into custody as a Hamas terrorist suspect, the IDF and Shin Bet stated.

Before the operation, 350 patients and medical staff were safely evacuated from the hospital in a coordinated effort with the Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) unit.

“Tens of thousands of liters of fuel, food, and medical supplies for the essential functioning of the hospital were also delivered to Kamal Adwan Hospital over this period.”

An additional 95 patients, caregivers and medical personnel were evacuated to the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza City, in coordination with local officials in the health authorities, and hundreds of civilians were able to leave the area for their own safety via defined evacuation routes, the IDF and Shin Bet said.

On Friday, the IDF pushed back against a flurry of reports that the military was responsible for a fire that broke at Kamal Adwan Hospital.

“Today, the IDF started a precise counter-terrorism operation in the area of Kamal Adwan hospital,” IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani wrote on X.

“While IDF troops were not in the hospital, a small fire broke out in an empty building inside the hospital compound that is under control. After preliminary examination, no connection was found between IDF activity and the fire,” Shoshani said.

“Running with unsubstantiated reports on the cause of this fire shows nothing but questionable journalistic integrity,” he added.

Earlier on Friday, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza accused Israel of setting fire to the hospital, claiming that IDF troops were responsible.

“The occupation forces have taken dozens of the medical staff from Kamal Adwan Hospital to a detention center for interrogation, including the director, Hussam Abu Safiya,” the ministry added in a statement.

Meanwhile in Beit Hanun, east to Jabalia, IDF troops under the command of the 143rd “Gaza” Division operated against terrorist targets overnight Friday, the IDF said.

Artillery and fighter jets struck many of the targets before the entry of ground forces, the military added.

The IDF permitted residents who have yet to evacuate the battle zone to leave via orderly routes for their safety, the IDF said.

As Houthis Launch Daily Missiles, UN Chief Condemns Israel's Counterstrikes As 'Alarming'

UN Sec.-Gen. António Guterres has expressed concerns about the growing escalation between the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and the State of Israel. However, instead of condemning the Houthis, who initiated the hostilities over a year ago with unprovoked missile and drone attacks on Israel, Guterres blasted the recent Israeli aerial retaliatory strike on Houthi-held sites, including Sana’a International Airport and Red Sea ports in Yemen.

“Israeli airstrikes today on Sana’a International Airport, the Red Sea ports, and power stations in Yemen are especially alarming,” the UN chief’s spokesperson stated while warning that the conflict could potentially escalate further.

The latest Israeli strike on Houthi targets in Yemen was a retaliation for a recent increase in Houthi attacks against Israel. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that they had struck “military infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime for its military activities in both the Sana’a International Airport and the Hezyaz and Ras Kanatib power stations.”

Like Iran’s other regional terror proxies – Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon – the Houthis systematically embed themselves in civilian structures, and this is considered a war crime under international law. The Iranian regime has used the airport and the Houthi-held ports to smuggle weapons to the terror groups in Yemen.

Guterres accused Israel of injuring a member of the UN aircrew at the Yemeni airport, saying in his statement that, “A United Nations Humanitarian Air Service crew member was also injured when the airport was hit.”

“A high-level UN delegation, headed by World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was at the airport when the strikes occurred. The delegation had just concluded discussions on the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the release of UN and other detained personnel,” Guterres continued.

The statement from the UN chief further warned that “airstrikes on Red Sea ports and Sana’a Airport pose grave risks to humanitarian operations at a time when millions of people are in need of life-saving assistance. Further escalation in the region also continues to undermine the mediation efforts led by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen Hans Grundberg aimed at reaching a negotiated political solution to the conflict in Yemen.”

The director of WHO recalled the attack on the airport:

“One of our plane’s crew members was injured. At least two people were reported killed at the airport,” Ghebreyesus stated in a message on 𝕏. “We will need to wait for the damage to the airport to be repaired before we can leave.”

The UN chief has a history of hostility against Israel. Following last year’s Hamas Oct. 7 massacre of 1,200 Israelis, Guterres claimed that the atrocities did not happen in a vacuum.
