Foundation Fears ‘Members May Have Been Taken Hostage’ After Hamas Commits Deadly Attack On American Aid Workers In Gaza

Breanna Claussen

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an American NGO working to bypass Hamas by distributing aid directly to Gazans, released an “urgent” statement detailing a significant Hamas attack on Wednesday evening, leaving multiple aid workers dead and a possible hostage situation.

“We are still gathering facts, but what we know is devastating: there are at least five fatalities, multiple injuries, and fear that some of our team members may have been taken hostage,” the statement described.

According to the GHS, “At approximately 10 p.m. Gaza time, a bus carrying more than two dozen members of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation team, local Palestinians working side-by-side with the U.S. GHF team to deliver critical aid, were brutally attacked by Hamas. At the time of the attack, our team was en route to one of our distribution centers in the area west of Khan Younis.”

The statement explained that multiple people are “still unaccounted for” and called on the international community to immediately “condemn this heinous and deliberate attack in the strongest possible terms,” adding that the violence was “unprovoked” and came after days of Hamas threats.

“This attack did not happen in a vacuum. For days, Hamas has openly threatened our team, our aid workers, and the civilians who receive aid from us,” GHF underscored. “These threats were met with silence.”

“The GHF holds Hamas fully responsible for taking the lives of our dedicated workers who have been distributing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people at the foundation’s sites in central and southern Gaza.

“Tonight, the world must see this for what it is: an attack on humanity. We call on the international community to immediately condemn Hamas for this unprovoked attack and continued threat against our people simply trying to feed the Palestinian people,” the statement concluded.

According to the Jerusalem Post, text messages were received by aid workers earlier this week from Hamas terrorists, threatening: “We are fully aware of everything you are doing, and all your movements are being monitored with extreme precision.”

In what the message called GHF’s “final warning,” the terrorists asserted that if the aid workers “Continue down this path,” they will have “severe consequences.”

“You will bear full responsibility for the outcomes of your actions,” the text cautioned. “Stop now, or else.”

The GHF, which works in partnership with Israel, in an operational update released earlier this week, highlighted that on Tuesday alone, the foundation was able to distribute over two million meals directly to Gazan civilians.

The substantial work of the foundation has loosened Hamas’s grasp on the Strip. Prior to the GHF, numerous reports showed that the terrorists were stealing the aid entering Gaza and selling it back to civilians, keeping the Gazan population dependent on Hamas. Israel began Operation Gideon’s Chariots to thwart this stranglehold.

Amir Tsarfati, Founder and President of Behold Israel, recently described the shift in the Strip following the Israeli operation.

“Imagine going to an aid station to buy your weekly supply of food. Your money is in your hand, but the person distributing the supplies refuses to take it. ‘It’s free,’ he tells you. ‘This aid has always been free.’ With your heavy box on your shoulder, you walk away stunned. For months, you’ve been paying exorbitant prices for meager supplies, but now you have a package that is at least twice as heavy, and it was totally free. That’s the moment you realize that the previous people at the aid stations who said they were your friends were really your enemies, grifting enormous amounts of money from you and your people,” Tsarfati emphasized. “That is the experience that thousands of Gazans are currently having about Hamas.”

With the changes in aid distribution and the substantial increase in Gazan dissent against Hamas, the terrorist organization over the weekend attempted to use public execution as a means to stoke fear in civilians. The IDF released footage showing Hamas’ public execution of a local resident in Gaza City’s main square.

“People of Gazaโ€”Hamas terrorists and criminals are killing you and care nothing for your lives,” IDF Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian stressed. “There is no difference between a dictator who kills quietly and a terrorist who slaughters openlyโ€”both are your enemies and enemies of life.”

Hamas recently demanded that any hostage agreement must return the distribution of aid to being under United Nations control. The Trump Administration quickly rejected the demand, calling it “totally unacceptable” and underscoring that the United States and Israel have no intention of going “backward.”

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) responded to Wednesday evening’s attack on aid workers, writing on X, “We are outraged by this barbaric Hamas attack on aid workers with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Hamas murdered 5 aid workers because they were delivering aid directly to Palestinians. Leaders must condemn Hamas for this attack, and demand it free the hostages and surrender.”

The international community, alongside mainstream news media organizations, has eagerly clung to false claims about Israel emanating from Hamas. Most recently, this included a fabricated story stating that the IDF was “luring” Gazan civilians to aid from GHF and opening fire. IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin responded by releasing a video message and drone footage showing a masked Palestinian gunman (likely a Hamas operative) carrying out the attack in Khan Yunis.

GHF Executive Director John Acree also refuted the claims, stating: “The continued misinformation, mischaracterization and unfortunately completely false reports by some major media outlets [are] very disheartening to our aid workers and their vital efforts to feed the hungry people of Gaza.”

Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, responding to Hamas’ attack on aid workers Wednesday evening, noted it is unlikely mainstream news outlets will give the important development much attention.

“Will this get reported?” he questioned on X. “Don’t hold your breath.”

The GHF added that they are still working to obtain more information about the attack’s aftermath, including the location of individuals they fear have been abducted by Hamas, adding that they are praying for the families of the missing.

As Christians, let us also pray for those affected by the attack, for the peace of Jerusalem, and that this targeting of American aid workers would shine an exposing light on the agenda of Hamas. The terrorists controlling Gaza do not care about Gazansโ€”which has been long demonstrated through their use of human shields. Hamas cares only about their Islamic-jihadist ideology and the demonic destruction of Israel and the Jewish people, and they are willing to kill any individual who gets in the way of their goals.

Don’t Mess With Texas: Islamists In The Lone Star State Are Overplaying Their Hand

Clearly, the Islamists are growing more bold. But it looks like they're overplaying their hand. After a Muslim-only event was advertised at a water park in Grand Prairie, Texas, near Dallas, Governor Abbott stepped in. Earlier this week, he sent a letter to the mayor of Grand Prairie threatening to cut funding to the city if it did not cancel the event, which Abbott rightly said was a clear case of religious discrimination. No non-Muslims allowed at a city-owned, taxpayer-funded water park in Texas? Folks, they say don't mess with Texas for a reason.
