The clock is ticking on the Iranian regime.
On Wednesday, President Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House for a long, closed-door meeting focused on Iran and regional security. It was their seventh meeting since Trump returned to office last year.
I see Trump and Bibi as a pair of modern-day Churchills in a sea of Chamberlains. Their partnership is historic, and the next few weeks will determine how President Trump, in particular, is remembered. Will he make the call to strike Iran and put an end to the satanically motivated Ayatollah regime? Will he take decisive action against the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism, which has been a force for misery and mayhem for nearly half a century?
President Trump promised the Iranian people a month ago that help was “on the way” as the regime was slaughtering thousands in the streets. Since then, we’ve seen a massive US military buildup in the region at Iran’s doorstep. This does not seem like a coincidence.
The President said after his meeting with Netanyahu that negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program will continue. At the same time, the President is considering sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East to ramp up pressure on Iran if negotiations fall apart. The Pentagon is now preparing that second strike group, likely the USS George HW Bush, for potential deployment. If ordered, it would join the USS Abraham Lincoln in the region, marking the first time since March of 2025 that two US carrier strike groups will be positioned there simultaneously.
The message is unmistakable: diplomacy backed by overwhelming force, peace through strength, a healthy dose of psychological warfare, and intentional mixed messaging to keep Iran’s regime off balance.
Back in June, I called it “the swerve.” Publicly, President Trump said he preferred diplomacy with Iran, and it seemed that he and Bibi were at odds. Privately, the two were very much on the same page. Iran’s regime became complacent and overconfident, completely falling for the swerve while the United States and Israel were preparing a massive assault.
On June 13, Israel launched the 12-day war against Iran, and the US closed it out with “Operation Midnight Hammer,” which saw the destruction of Iran’s nuclear weapon sites.
Are we seeing another swerve right now by Trump and Bibi? We will soon find out.
In the meantime, as Washington and Jerusalem coordinate strategy, something else is happening inside Iran itself. Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is calling on the Iranian people to continue rising up, urging unity ahead of planned demonstrations and what he calls the “Lion and Sun Revolution.”
“This time as well, I ask you to carry out this movement with the same dignified conduct and with full discipline,” Pahlavi said in a video message. “Be mindful of those who try to create distractions and side issues. Use your unified voice and your discipline, and know that your message will once again be echoed to our pompatriots inside the country and across the world.”
Could he be Iran’s next leader? Could internal unrest, combined with external pressure from the United States and Israel, bring down the Iranian regime once and for all? If so, this would fundamentally reshape the world’s most volatile and strategic region.
Keep it all in prayer, and we’ll see how this develops.
