With the election only days away, a billboard campaign in California is striving to open the eyes of voters to the heinous reality of Proposition 1 before it is too late.
Although many Californians have ignorantly voiced their support for Proposition 1, believing it to simply be a codification of Roe V. Wade in the state, Stop Proposition 1 and Real Impact are warning that the broadly worded text of the ballot initiative takes the “right to choose to have an abortion” all the way up to birth.
“Make no mistake, this is the Birth Day Abortion amendment and the most radical legislation attempt in the history of the United States whereby a child can be exterminated up until the moment of birth,” Pastor Jack Hibbs, Founder of Real Impact underscored.
If Proposition 1 is approved by voters, it would amend California’s constitution to include:
“The state shall not deny or interfere with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives.”
According to Stop Proposition 1, the “purposely misleading and vaguely written” text of the amendment would not only remove any limitations set on abortion, meaning it could legally take place at all stages of pregnancy, but it would also bar the creation of pro-life legislation in the future and could only be reversed by another ballot vote.
Surveys conducted in August and October demonstrated that the vast majority of Californians, who have a reputation for being highly in favor of abortion, draw the line at killing an unborn child in late terms of pregnancy.
Despite 79% of likely voters considering late-term abortion “too extreme,” 59% of those surveyed in October (down from 66% in August) said they are in favor of Proposition 1. This discrepancy in numbers highlights the urgent need for the public to be better informed about the radical measure hiding in plain sight on their ballot.
The billboards, launched by Stop Proposition 1, will garner over 10 million impressions and plainly inform the public that Proposition 1 will legalize up till birth abortion.
“Simply stated, California Governor Gavin Newsom and his radical state legislature are Pro Death. The flood of abortion bills they recently passed will legalize unspeakable atrocities,” Jack Hibbs, Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, explained. “They want California to become America’s Graveyard for children—and Proposition 1 is icing on their cake. It is the Birthday Abortion amendment—radical legislation whereby a child can be exterminated up until the moment of birth.”
“And if you think Newsom, The King of Late Term Abortion, is stopping in California, you’re betting with the lives of future generations,” The Pastor warned.
“His billboards in pro-life states across the nation encourage women to have an abortion in California and include Bible verses,” Hibbs described. “Using Bible verses to justify abortion is blasphemous.”
“As a pastor and follower of Jesus, I’m called to defend those who are destined for crushing, those who have no voice for themselves. If that doesn’t describe an unborn child, I don’t know what does,” he added.
“Acting timidly and refusing to speak loudly on the side of life is unacceptable,” Pastor Hibbs stressed. “We must save our children.”
