After the assassination of Christian political activist Charlie Kirk, Bible sales surged in the U.S., adding to an already growing demand for Bibles among young and old.  September showed a 36% increase in Bible copy sales in comparison to September 2024. Some 2.4 million Bibles were sold in September 2025, up from 1.5 million in August. Through August, each month in 2025 had ranged between 1.2 to 1.6 million sold, book tracker Circana BookScan found.

Commission members discussed some of the fundamental reasons why killings like these may happen. “We live in a climate that is hyper secular,” said Eric Metaxas. “The mainstream media has fomented hatred of people who love God and who talk about God publicly.” But he added that churches also share some of the blame, for not having the courage to teach about the link between faith, freedom and virtue, and for trying to avoid “political” issues. “It made Charlie Kirk look like a radical and put a target on him,” Metaxas said.

The comments come at the end of a 60-day public inquiry the FTC launched “to better understand how consumers may have been exposed to false or unsupported claims about gender-affirming care.” That public inquiry followed an FTC workshop on gender-affirming care for minors in which medical experts, whistleblowers, detransitioners and parents of detransitioners testified that gender-affirming medical practitioners have deceived consumers. 

A new study commissioned by Ligonier Ministries in conjunction with Lifeway Research suggests troubling inconsistencies in the beliefs of many self-described evangelicals regarding the Bible, other religions, God’s nature, and human nature. Regarding what the Bible teaches about worshiping the God of Scripture, 47% agreed that “God accepts the worship of all religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.” Moreover, 35% “strongly agreed” with the statement.
