Largest Bible App Reveals A 27% Increase In The Daily Use Of God’s Word

YouVersion’s 2025 report reveals a record number of engagement levels with the Word of God, with an increase in daily Bible use in Africa, Central Asia and North America.

The most used Bible app in the world saw a 27% increase in daily Bible use in sub-Saharan Africa, while North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia saw a 33% increase in daily use. North America experienced a 15% increase.

“We’re witnessing a global movement. People are hungry for what’s real and true,” said Bobby Gruenewald, YouVersion’s founder and CEO. “The Bible stands alone as the source of truth, carefully passed from generation to generation. It’s alive and active, and relevant to our everyday lives. These numbers represent millions of changed lives—people finding hope, direction and purpose in God’s Word.”

The verse that received the most engagement in the app was Isaiah 41:10, which says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

“I think this verse keeps rising to the top because it addresses one of our deepest needs, the assurance that we’re not alone,” said Gruenewald. “In a world full of anxiety and uncertainty, people are drawn to God’s promise to be with us, to strengthen us, and to help us. That message never gets old because the need for it is universal and timeless.”

Over the last six years, in fact, that verse has been the most read four times. Other top verses included Jeremiah 29:11 (God’s hopeful plans for us) and Romans 12:2 (be transformed by the renewing of our minds), and the most searched terms were love, anxiety and peace.

October marked a milestone of 1 billion downloads across its apps, which was announced late October.

“Wow—what a milestone!” Franklin Graham posted across social media. “Congratulations to YouVersion Bible App on reaching their one BILLIONTH download this month! So grateful to the team who developed this tremendous tool to help people read and study God’s Word. Incredibly, the Bible App is now in 2,300 languages and has users in every country of the world! Let’s pray for one billion more downloads!”

Nov. 2 marked a record for engagement with the Bible, when 19 million people opened the YouVersion Bible app in a day. From late August through November, Sundays ranked among the highest-ever engagement days. And November saw a 19% increase in daily Bible use over November 2024.

Gruenewald says YouVersion’s hope is that “even more people around the world will discover the life-changing power of Scripture in the year ahead.”

“The momentum we’re seeing gives us bold faith for 2026 and beyond,” Gruenewald said. “When people consistently engage with God’s Word, it transforms more than individual lives. There’s a ripple effect in families and communities.”

Could The Private Prayers Of Australians Now Result In A Knock On The Door From The Government?

Through the use of targeted examples, overreach and ambiguously drafted legislation and booklets, Victorian faith leaders and parents now find themselves the victims of arbitrary limitations that permit the government a place at the dinner table of families that need to have important discussions regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. A conversation which, if led by the clear teachings of the Bible, will only lead to one conclusion. Although the Victorian Government has attempted to grant clear concessions to parents to raise their children according to Biblical values, the undeniable conclusion is that there are limitations as to what the government will accept.

Blending God’s Word And Man’s Word: When Churches Attempt To Explain Away The Bible’s Condemnation Of Homosexuality

Some “churches” promote full inclusion of every sexual desire, while others hold fast to what God says about sexuality. But what about the options in between obvious heresy on the one side and the historic biblical position on the other? In the middle, lie the more insidious errors because these positions claim to respect God’s Word, affirming its authority, while saying either (1) the act of homosexuality is sinful, but the identity and desire isn’t or (2) that homosexual “marriage” honors God if it’s a committed monogamous relationship.

Jan Markell: Is Israel’s Spiritual Blindness A Reason For Christians To Reject Them?

Ezekiel 36 emphasizes that when the Jews return to the land, they will do so in unbelief. There will be spiritual regeneration much later! The dry bones of Ezekiel 37 reflect a lack of breath or spiritual life. God states he is gathering them back “not for your sake but for my holy name’s sake,” because their presence among the nations caused his name to be profaned. Ezekiel 36 promises that once back in the land, God will cleanse them, give them a new spirit, and cause them to walk in his statutes. But much later.
