“We are shocked to be told by the judge that our daughter does not have capacity to make decisions for herself after all the experts have said that she does. We are very distressed by this injustice, and we hope that, by Jesus’s grace, this will be corrected on appeal.”

But this list isn’t simply to praise those who’ve stood. It’s to remind Christians that we have stood firm when the opposition has been fiercest and when God’s pattern for men and women has been mocked.

Some people think there’s no harm in switching pronouns, dressing in different clothes and going by a new name. What’s the harm in that? Plenty, it turns out. Affirming children in a false gender identity causes real damage.

Cllr Lawal said: “It is now almost impossible to say something biblically truthful on sexual ethics in UK society without being cancelled and having your life ruined.“

The first thing to say about this is ‘don’t believe the hype’. There have been too many times now when people have celebrated alleged victories over the trans agenda in institutions, only to find it being allowed to continue on the sly.

These concerns have now been repeated by several other Christian organisations this week. Essentially the problem comes down to ‘playing God’, engaging in radical experimentation on human embryos and thus commodifying human life.

All this begs the question as to by what authority does Colin Bloom assert that calling someone else an unbeliever or a heretic is ‘extremist’? Christians should be very concerned about the definition of extremism proposed by Bloom and should have no hesitation in speaking out about it.

Hiding in plain sight, is what many believe to be the first stages of the grooming of children. It is a clear move towards the public acceptance of adults being naked with children.
