Amid Nuclear Fears, Governments Stock Up, Prepare To Distribute Pills to Counteract Radiation Poisoning

Preparing for a possible nuclear incident, the country of Romania, which shares a border with Ukraine, is planning to distribute potassium iodide tablets to its populations from ages 0 to 40.

The tablets are taken in the event of a nuclear hazard to counteract the effects of radiation poisoning. It does this by “filling” the thyroid with non-radioactive iodide, causing there to be no room in the gland to absorb the radioactive iodide.

“At the beginning of next week, the Romanian Government and the Ministry of Health will start the campaign to inform the population on how to administer and store potassium iodide tablets,” the country’s Health Ministry explained in a statement released Sunday.

“Please note that at this time, there is no danger of making these pills necessary,” the country said, reassuring its citizens. “The public information campaign, the distribution and development of preventive skills among the population are the responsibility of the Ministry of Health.”

“In the near future, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance House will establish the legal procedure for the distribution of potassium iodide pills for the population aged 0 to 40 years,” the statement continued. “The distribution of tablets will begin in the second half of April.”

Last month, potassium iodide tablets quickly became sold out as Americans, fearing nuclear war with Russia, began panic buying the pills. According to the Daily Mail, after the leading manufacturer had sold-out, identical pills started popping up at an 1100% increase in price.

Chris Sampson, a rep for BTG, a company that sells “Thyrosafe” into the United States from the UK, underscored that the increase in demand for the product is not entirely attributed to panic buyers but governments as well.

“Most of our product is sold to governments, public health agencies, and the military who manage stockpiles,” he explained. “All of those orders are being met.”

At the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin alluded to the use of nuclear weapons against western countries if they choose to intervene in the conflict. Shortly after the warning, Putin ordered Russia to put its nuclear forces on “high alert.”

Late last month, Russia’s deputy chairman of the security council reasserted its “readiness” to use nuclear weapons in its conflict with Ukraine. This prompted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to insist that the threat was not merely against his country but the entire world.

“Russia is deliberating bragging they can destroy with nuclear weapons, not only a certain country but the entire planet,” he told the Doha Forum via Livestream.

Jack Hibbs, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, in a recent article, discussed what the Bible says about increasing “wars and rumors of wars.”

“Wars and rumors of wars can be a frightening prospect to those who have no idea what’s coming,” he asserted. “But for the Christian who has studied the Bible, the escalation of aggression we are seeing is just one more indicator that we draw closer to the end. Jesus detailed many signs of the times to be looking for in the last days. In addition to the escalation of war, Jesus foretold the escalation of deception, betrayal, hatred, lawlessness, earthquakes, famines, and yes, even pandemics.”

“Why did Jesus tell us that we should expect all of these horrible things? Was He trying to scare us? Doesn’t He know we are already prone to anxiety and worry?” he asked. “Yes, He does know. He knows us better than we know ourselves. It is precisely for that reason He foretold all of these things. His prophecies are reminders to us that He knows the future, and that He has every single detail under control. In the midst of all His warning about the last days, He made it a point to assure us: ‘See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass’ (Matthew 24:6).”

How Allegory Reduces The Bible To Nothing More Than A Work Of Fiction

It is God alone who predicts the future. Prophecy is one of God’s signatures that tells us that we can trust in Him and His Word. It is what separates the Bible from all other religious writings in the world. But if we consistently use allegorical hermeneutics, as Charles Ryrie points out, then in effect what we have just done is reduce the Bible to nothing more than a work of fiction. How tragic! With hermeneutics like that, it is no wonder so many people want nothing to do with Bible prophecy. It is no wonder pastors refuse to preach and teach events concerning the future, and it is no wonder it can be so hard to understand.

Jan Markell: You Can’t Have A Genuine Revival With False Doctrine Raging

I hear a dozen evangelists stating that we are on the verge of a great revival. One self-proclaimed prophet says that a billion souls will come to faith in the coming weeks and months. If my Rapture is imminent, how can there be an imminent revival? Which is it? The Bible does talk about a coming revival. The question concerns its timing. Is it in the coming days, or is it after the Rapture when the “left behind” world realizes they should have listened to believers like you and me, get a second chance, and multitudes come to faith?
