Iran launched several volleys of ballistic missiles toward Israel on Friday and Saturday, with sirens repeatedly sounding across Jerusalem and central/northern Israel, sending millions into bomb shelters.

The United States worked to protect Israel from incoming ballistic missiles by assisting the Jewish State in its efforts to intercept the projectiles. Fox News reported that Burke-class destroyers “equipped with the Aegis system, which can detect and shoot down incoming missiles,” were used to help defend Israel from the volleys.

The IDF also confirmed that two “suspicious aerial targets” that were attempting to enter Israeli airspace were intercepted by the IAF.

At least 70 Israelis were wounded, and two people were killed in four separate waves of ballistic missiles fired from Iran. Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency services, reported that multiple individuals needed to be rescued after being trapped in buildings heavily damaged by the attack. One of MDA Mobile Intensive Care Units was also struck by shrapnel in Tel Aviv, causing two female crew members to suffer minor injuries from glass fragments.

The public in Israel has been advised not to “publish location or photos of missile impacts” from Iran’s attack, with the IDF underscoring that “the enemy monitors the footage to improve its attack capabilities.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz released a statement about the attack, warning that the Iranian regime has “crossed red lines” by firing missiles directed at “civilian population concentrations in Israel.”

“We will continue to defend the citizens of Israel and ensure that the Ayatollah regime pays a very heavy price for its heinous actions,” Katz stated.
