‘Where’s Your God Now?’: Mob Of Abortion Activists Surround Pro-Life Christian At SCOTUS Protest

Following the leak out of the Supreme Court, which showed the likelihood of Roe v. Wade being overturned, pro-abortion activists gathered at the capitol to protest en masse and terrorize all opposing voices.

Daily Wire reporter Mary Margaret Olohan documented the protest on Wednesday and said that the “viciousness” among the crowd “was palpable.”

Olohan described a small number of counter-protesters who were pro-life experiencing ‘mob and pitchfork’ like berating as pro-abortion activists screamed, cursed, and pressed a siren blaring megaphone to their ears.

Most of the pro-life voices outside the supreme court building, she recounted, were forced to escape through bushes and be escorted to safety by police.

However, one Christian man and director of Survivors Of The Abortion Holocaust, A.J. Hurley, decided to remain and share the Gospel with the infuriated crowd. Upon mentioning the redemption and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ, the protesters were quickly offended.

“I don’t believe in your Jesus. Your Jesus isn’t real. F*** your Jesus, f*** your Jesus,” one woman on video shouted at him. “Christ is not here, baby, I’m right here, and right here today, I can get an abortion. I can get an abortion.”

As the protesters moved closer to Hurley, a man was heard yelling, “Where’s your God now?”

In an interview with Olohan, Hurley described his reason for being there and his sincere desire for the pro-abortion protesters to understand God’s mercy and love for each of them.

“I’m here to be a voice for the voiceless. We just were in the belly of the beast trying to be a voice and a group of thousands of people who don’t care about life; they have no concern with life; they have no love in their hearts,” he grieved. “It’s unbelievable that a bunch of people like this could gather out here for the right to dismember and disembowel their children in the womb. It’s disgusting and it’s despicable.”

“They need Christ… I was once like them,” he explained, underscoring that he was trying to tell them that “God loves them more than they hate themselves and the shame that they feel inside. God loves them more than their mistakes and that there’s freedom and mercy, grace and kindness at the foot of the cross.”

“His mercy, forgiveness, peace, reconciliation, and healing is ready if they would just turn from their sin, turn from their wickedness, and embrace Him as Christ,” he implored.

When asked if he feared for his safety, Hurley responded, “I can guarantee you that what happened to me right there… is nothing compared to what Christ endured and what these babies go through every single day. The fact that I can just suffer with them and be their voices is an incredible privilege.”

“it’s a shame that I have to stand out here alone—the church isn’t here,” he lamented. “The time for comfort and safety is over. We have to put ourselves between them, and let’s end this horrible tragedy once and for all in this country.”

Hurley was in the medical field for 20 years and worked closely with newborns and premature babies with respiratory problems until he was fired for deciding not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Hurley became increasingly involved in the fight to protect unborn children and accepted the job to be Director of Survivors Of The Abortion Holocaust in 2021.

Hurley’s recent podcast interview with “UnAborted” host Seth Gruber showed that he knew countering pro-abortion activists could quickly turn volatile.

“I will tell you what, when you go after the sacrament of the left, which is the blood of the unborn, you can expect to be hit hard.”

Many have been comparing modern-day abortion and its wickedly impassioned supporters to the worship of the false god Molech described in the Old Testament.

Worshipers of Molech would engage in rituals of sexual immorality. The children produced from these rituals were then killed in a sacrifice to the false god’s statue.

Cissie Graham Lynch, daughter of Franklin Graham, in an article, explained that abortion today is identical to previous cults that practiced child sacrifice; only now, we are sacrificing to the “god of self”:

“In the Old Testament, some Israelites were won over to the cult of the pagan god Molech, which required child sacrifice (see Jeremiah 32:35),” she explained. “It turns my stomach to think of turning one’s child over to be burned in an offering to an idol! Yet in a sense, that’s what abortion is all about. Only now, instead of a metal statue with the head of a bull and the body of a man, the idol has become the individual.”

“Think about it,” she continued. “Very few abortions happen because the life or health of the mother is actually at risk. Rather, women talk about ‘my life,’ ‘my dreams,’ ‘my choice.’ They sacrifice their own babies to the idol of self! The Bible says, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves …” (2 Timothy 3:1-2).”

2 Timothy 3:1-12 further described that in the time prior to the return of Christ, people would despise and resist both God and the truth. That opposition, however, should not cause Christians to be silent about the moral atrocities and general wickedness of our day.

The Holy Spirit, which indwells each genuine follower of Jesus Christ, is referred to in Scripture as the restraining force against the particularly rampant evil in this generation.

“There will come a day,” Graham-Lynch continued, “when each of us will have to make a choice to stand courageously or back down to the world. Daniel 11:32 says: ‘The people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.’ Our faith will often call for courage, and as Christians, we must stand unashamed.”

God did not provide His Word so that it would simply die in the hands of the spiritually dead. He expected, as evidenced by Habakkuk, that it be shared – particularly that which was warning people of the two paths available – righteousness or wickedness.
