This is truly horrifying. The largest public school system in Maryland recently had their students—from elementary through high school—fill out a form “designed to understand and support a student’s gender identity” (423 forms have been submitted in four years). It asks students for their “‘identified name,’ ‘identified gender’ and their preferred pronouns.” And the results are shocking.
The New Social Contagion
In 2019, this form found just 35 students throughout the whole system who identified as “non-binary” (identifying as something outside the male-female “binary”). The same form in 2021 (the results were just made public) found . . . are you ready for this? 239 students identify as non-binary. 239!!! That’s a jaw-dropping 582% increase in just two years!
The majority (129) of these “non-binary” students are middle schoolers—children aged 11–14—identifying as neither male nor female. A few (18) were elementary-aged and the rest (92) were in high school.
This confusion and rejection of God’s created order of male and female is not biological, it’s the direct result of public schools and the media grooming children for gender confusion from the time they are very young. Introducing the idea of pronouns, the gender spectrum, and transgender ideology to very young children is confusing them and sending the numbers skyrocketing.
Transgender and the host of other gender identities have become a social contagion, the new “cool thing” to be. But it’s not a harmless little trend—it’s incredibly dangerous. These young kids, believing they are something other than male or female, are ripe for the sexual abuse that is “gender-affirming” hormones and surgeries. These procedures can (and often do) cause permanent sterility and mutilate bodies, not to mention the health complications we don’t even know about yet! And the never-ending medical visits. This is the largest social and medical experiment on children. It’s evil and disgusting, and the teachers, school boards, media personalities, and others who are pushing this on children need to repent of the irreparable harm they are causing!
Parents Bad, Teachers Good
The form also asked students “whether or not their parents or guardians are aware of their gender and, if so, to rank their level of support on a scale from 1 to 10. The form notes that parents and guardians should only be involved in the completion of the form if they are aware and supportive of the child’s gender identity.” In other words, hide this from your parents if they aren’t “supportive”! It’s another example of how schools are increasingly portraying parents as the enemy but the school and the government as having the child’s best interests in mind.
But children do not belong to the government nor does government or the school system have the child’s best interests at heart. Children have been given by God to their parents (Psalm 127:3) and it is parents who know, love, and care about their child the most. It’s parents who will now have to support and help their children through the painful and lifelong consequences of this gender madness long after they’ve moved on from the school, teachers, and media that have planted the seeds of confusion in their minds.
What is happening in US public schools is horrifying, and we must be aware of it and stand boldly against it for the sake of precious children, made male or female in God’s image, who are being sacrificed on the altar of a twisted ideology.
No matter what cultural fads come and go, the Word of God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8) and it says we are made male and female (Genesis 1:27). Peace and happiness will not be found in rejecting God’s design for us and our bodies but rather in coming to Christ for forgiveness and new life.
