With nearly 90% of votes counted, Benjamin Netanyahu will retake the Premiership after winning a resounding victory in Israel’s elections. Votes tallied show the former Prime Minister with a comfortable 65-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset.
There are still half a million “double envelopes” left to be counted, made up of those in the military, prisoners, disabled citizens, and others, however, experts indicate that those votes are unlikely to significantly shift the election results.
“It appears that Benjamin Netanyahu is going back to the office of prime minister, and the political crisis of the last four years in Israel has officially come to an end,” Amir Tsarfati, Founder and President of the Christian Israeli non-profit Behold Israel, wrote.
“504 days of this liberal, progressive nightmare known as the ‘Government of Change,’ that was based on deception and did nothing but destroy everything good we’ve achieved in the past decade, has caused the angry and disappointed Israelis to finally get out and vote in massive numbers!” Tsarfati exclaimed. “The people have spoken!”
“The experiment of creating a coalition that leaned on the Arabs not only failed – the lab exploded,” he quipped.
Tsarfati and his team at Behold Israel called for three days of fasting and “lifting Israel up before the Lord” starting on Sunday leading up to the elections.
“The nation has lost its way, and we know from Scripture that there are times ahead when it will become much, much worse,” he wrote at the time. “However, we also know that God loves His chosen people. He will care for them now, and there will come a day when they will look on the One they have pierced, mourn their actions, and turn to Him in repentance. That is when He will draw all of them into His kingdom based on their faith in Him. But for now, we as the church mourn the wayward prodigal nation, as we lift them before the Lord asking for His mercy, grace, and wisdom to be poured out on the citizens and the government.”
“Prayer and Fasting works!” Tsafrati wrote on Telegram following Netanyahu’s victory.
With critical upcoming elections in the United States, Amir reminded Christians and conservatives in America that they should follow the Israelis’ lead by going out en masse and voting.
“The secret to Netanyahu’s victory was that people finally went to vote!” he explained. “If all conservatives in America will actually go to vote they can take both houses easily! GO TO VOTE!”
