Nearly one in five likely American voters say they would accept a peace agreement ending the Iran war that would dissolve the State of Israel and replace it with a Palestinian state if the deal also brought lower oil and gasoline prices, according to a new poll.
The Our Republic/Rasmussen survey found that 19% of likely voters would accept such an agreement, according to Just the News. Among Democrats, the figure rose to 24%.
But the most striking finding came among Americaโs youngest voters.
Among those ages 18 to 24, 46% said they would accept a deal eliminating Israel as a state under those conditions โ nearly half of respondents in that age group.
The survey of 1,026 likely voters was conducted Sept. 20 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
The poll does not establish that respondents favor violence against Jewish people; its question concerned dissolving Israel as a sovereign state as part of a negotiated settlement. Still, the willingness of a substantial share of young Americans to contemplate Israelโs disappearance comes amid persistently elevated levels of antisemitism in the United States.
According to FBI data cited by the Anti-Defamation League, 1,528 anti-Jewish hate-crime incidents were reported in 2025, representing 63% of all reported religion-based hate crimes nationwide. While that was down from the record 1,938 incidents reported in 2024, 2025 remained the third-highest year on record.
Separately, the ADL documented 6,274 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment and vandalism in 2025 โ an average of 17 incidents each day. The overall number declined from 2024 but remained dramatically above levels recorded before Hamasโ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
The Iran-war survey nevertheless showed broader support for the United States in the conflict: 74% said they hoped America would win. At the same time, 51% blamed either the United States or Israel for starting the conflict, while 39% blamed Iran.
