Netanyahu Repeats Pledge To Prevent A Nuclear Iran, Even If Means Straining Ties With United States

Israel’s presumptive next premier has long vowed to take any necessary action to prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring atomic bombs.

“I’ll do anything in my power from prevent them from getting nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them to us, and by the way – to you,  too,” Benjamin Netanyahu told the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference, in his first remote Q&A session to since securing the presidential mandate to form Jerusalem’s next government.

The former Israeli premier has not wavered from the position he adopted during his previous terms in office that he will not hesitate to exercise its right to self-defense against Iran – even if it risks straining ties with the United States.

If defense of the Jewish State “meant taking a stand against a sitting administration, then so be it. I did it but not up haphazardly and not light heartedly, it was a difficult decision,” he said, adding that, “People in Washington and in America and in the West are beginning to realize Israel’s great value, it’s being a great asset to western security against the multitude of Islamic radicals and especially against this regime called Iran. [They chant] death to Israel, death to America.”

Netanyahu notably challenged the administration of former Democratic President Barack Obama as it worked to secure the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear agreement between world powers and Iran, repeatedly condemning it as “a bad deal.”

The Israeli leader, who said that he has had “the privilege of dealing with several American presidents,” explained that even when “there were occasional differences – by the way with Republican and Democratic presidents” – that he continues to “value the constancy of the American-Israeli alliance because it is a partnership between peoples.”

Going on to highlight the positive relationship his previous neo-conservative government established with former Republican President Donald Trump, Netanyahu said he “was tremendously fortunate” to have “finally” greeted an American administration who agreed with his policy to normalize ties between Israel with moderate Arab states.

Hal Lindsey in his article, “Biblically, Israel Will Survive, But What Awaits America If We Help Bring About A Nuclear Iran?” wrote:

From a biblical perspective, few things could be more dangerous for a nation than to facilitate an existential threat against Israel. “Existential threat” means a threat to the very existence of something. Reserve Brig. General Amir Avivi, Founder of the Israel Defense and Security Forum, recently called the expected restart of the Iran nuclear agreement a “future existential threat to Israel.”

According to the Bible, God will protect Israel from all “existential threats.” In that sense, I’m not concerned about Israel. It will survive. But I am concerned about the United States. Why would we make an agreement guaranteeing a nuclear Iran by 2031? Why would we do that to Israel? Why would we do it to the world, or to ourselves?

The Bible has a great deal to say about supporting and blessing Israel. In Genesis, we read that those who despise and work against Israel place themselves at enmity with God.

Genesis 12:3 states, “And I [God] will bless them that bless thee [Israel], and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

This warning also, if not especially, applies to nations.

Numbers 24:8-9 mirrors the above verse in Genesis with one notable exception. It reminds the reader that it is Almighty God who guards and protects the nation of Israel and “eats up” countries that make themselves enemies of the Jews. Pointedly the text then asks, “who shall stir [God] up?”

“There is a direct link, as the Bible says, between nations that bless Israel and nations that don’t,” Michele Bachmann described in an interview with Tony Perkins. “In fact, the Bible is very clear in Joel 3:2 that there is only one criteria upon which nations will be judged, and that is how nations treat Zion, Israel.”

“The Iranian agreement was a terrible agreement that came in 2015 under the Obama administration. Really, what it did is it gave 150 Billion dollars to Iran and allowed them to go forward with their program to gain a nuclear weapon someday,” she stated, adding that these billions also enable the Islamic Republic’s funding of terrorism, which she referred to as “Iran Inc.”

“Iran is all about terrorism. They do it through proxies and other nations, but they have one goal, and that is the annihilation of the Jewish State,” she emphasized. “As a matter of fact, the ayatollah wrote a book about seven years ago called We Will Annihilate Israel In 25 Years. They’re very serious and passionate about their goals.”

The Biden Administration wants to revitalize and enhance the nuclear agreement, “enrich Iran with about 135 Billion dollars,” making it 100 times worse, according to Bachmann.

“It’s hard to believe. The United States blessed Israel more than any other nation, now we are in a position of cursing Israel more than any other nation because we are literally empowering and enriching Israel’s number one enemy, which serves as an existential threat to their survival.”
