The commander for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Qasem Soleimani, heads to Baghdad after the resignation of the Iraq Prime Minister; Soleimani was in Baghdad in October to help combat the protestors.
The commander for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), General Qasem Soleimani, has made his way to Baghdad after Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi resigned over the weekend in the wake of bloody protests and countless deaths throughout the country. The IRGC has militia all over the Middle East and was also designated as a terror organization by the White House in April 2018.
Reports indicate that Soleimani has made his way to Baghdad after Mahdi’s resignation in order to help make sure that an Iranian-controlled prime minister will be appointed in Iraq. Israel has carried out multiple airstrikes in Iraq in 2019, primarily targeting Iranian-backed militia who are trying to further spread Iran’s arm of terror throughout the Middle East, and more specifically, surround Israel.
Since Soleimani went to Iraq in October to help instruct the government in their response to all of the civil unrest and protests, multiple people have been killed throughout the country, similar to Iran. Reports now indicate that over 400 protestors have been murdered in Iran by security forces, primarily unarmed people. Furthermore, Iraqi protestors are adamants that Farsi-speaking “security forces” have been shooting civilian protestors.
Iran is taking the slaughter of their homeland to the country of Iraq, which makes Soleimani’s involvement even more alarming.
