If These Young People Are The Leaders Of Tomorrow, Tomorrow Doesn’t Look Promising For Jews

Olivier Melnick Author

While things have slowed down a bit, we have seen a lot of anti-Semitic activity on various campuses in the United States and abroad since October 7, 2023. It caught people by surprise as we all witnessed the animosity displayed by groups of people made up of university students and other unidentified individuals. The hatred is being displayed in no uncertain terms. The enemy (Satan) is at work. He must know that His days are numbered as Yeshua prepares for His glorious return.

At a time when Jewish people would expect support in compassion for the carnage that took place on October 7 in Israel, people were marching on US campuses and other locations, chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free.” The vast majority of the people chanting that Motto did not even know what it meant. Most could not identify the Jordan River or the Mediterranean Sea.

All in all, there were more than 300 protests and 130 encampments of various sizes. Many of these “spontaneous” encampments had the same green tents and pre-printed protest signs on corrugated plastic, similar to political lawn signs. I am not sure these were as spontaneous as people reported. They seemed more organized than organic. In fact, the Campus intifada (uprising) is very dangerous on several levels beyond a simple outcry for justice in the Middle East–assuming that even the outcry was legitimate–which it wasn’t.

The Reason for the Uprisings: When asked about their reason for protesting, the pro-Palestinians, and in some cases, pro-Hamas people, spoke of the need for justice and fairness in the Middle East. They denounced Israel’s “genocide” of Palestinians. Very few speak of October 7 anymore. The 1,200 innocent civilian victims and the 240 hostages (120 still in Gaza) are almost never brought up except by family members and the rare few friends of Israel who clearly see through the thin veneer of self-righteous call for justice in Palestine.

The real genocidal terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, has been replaced by a staged genocide of Palestinians. Casualty numbers don’t even come close to matching reality.

The reasons given are based on a false Palestinian victimhood narrative that started in the early 60s and continues to this day with almost no pushback. Campus protesters have very little understanding of history and politics, so it is very easy to manipulate them to achieve a greater destructive agenda.

The Response from the Uprisings: It is amazing how much room the protesters have been given on various campuses. I am all in favor of the First Amendment as long as it doesn’t lead to hatred or killings. How the authorities and university leadership responded to the violent protests varied across the board. Some pushed back and nipped the encampments in the bud, but most did too little, too late. Harvard saw the raising of the Palestinian flag by pro-Palestinian protesters. It didn’t last long, but it happened.

Groups such as Students for Justice in Palestine were allowed to spew their venomous antisemitic rhetoric, with very little being done to stop them. Commencement ceremonies were canceled for fear of reprisals, and Jewish students were sent home for the rest of the semester/school year for “their own safety.” Everything was done to embolden the protagonists of hate, while very little happened to punish them.

The Result of the Uprisings: The Campus Intifada is a symptom of a grave danger that the global Jewish community still seems to be ignoring. The monster of antisemitism is completely out, loose on a global scale, and it shows no sign of stopping.

What we are witnessing is a group of young adults who know nothing about history and act against Israel and the Jewish people based on their feelings and desire for social justice. They are being used by the real enemies of Israel, and it seems to be working. Satan has a foothold on university campuses. It even reached the high schools where yearbooks were laced with antisemitic and pro-Palestinian narratives.

If these young people are the leaders of tomorrow, tomorrow doesn’t look promising for Jews. But I am not telling you anything you don’t already know; since we are rapidly approaching the end of God’s program, we know how bad it will get for the Jewish people (Zechariah 13:8-9.)

Not everybody can or will speak up against the evil of antisemitism, but all can do something. Your voice might not be heard against the oldest hatred, but your voice should be heard in the Jewish community. One way to fight this monster is to embrace the Jewish people with Christian love and compassion and reassure them that in this time of increasing need, they can count on you for rescue and shelter. Where is everybody when it comes to helping the Jewish people? If you think that Satan will stop with the Jews, you know very little about His agenda. We are in an existential, spiritual war where the Jews are the canaries in the goldmine of civilization. I bet you that German Pastor Martin Niemoller never thought his words would be recycled for a repeat of history!

First, they came for the Communists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, And there was no one left To speak out for me.

Hamas Led The Charge On October 7th, But Islam Motivated Hamas

The Hamas attack does not reflect the actions of most Muslims, but it does reflect the Quran. All ideas are not equal. Adolf Hitler’s ideas were not as noble as those of Florence Nightingale.
