The number of Brown University students identifying as homosexual, bisexual, or transgender has more than doubled since 2010, according to a new poll commissioned by a student-run paper. A decade ago, just 14 percent of students there claimed in polls to be LGBT. Today, almost 40 percent identify with one of the letters, according to the Brown Daily Heraldโs Spring 2023 poll released last month.
Breaking down the numbers, students who identify as homosexual have increased by over 25 percent, with โbisexualโ surging over 230 percent. But the number of students identifying with โother sexual orientationsโ such as โQueer,โ โPansexualโ and โAsexualโ skyrocketed almost 800 percent since the surveys began over a decade ago. Over 5 percent said they were โnonbinaryโ or โgenderqueer.โ
Students quoted by the paper celebrated the news, suggesting it was due to more social acceptance. โQueer people havenโt been able to be open in their identifications for that long,โ argued Josephine Kovecses, who is set to graduate with the class of 2025. โSo itโs exciting that the numbers are growing and that queer people are able to be open in particular at Brown.โ
The epidemic at ultra-liberal Brown is even more extreme than across the United States. In fact, Brown students are five times more likely than other Americans to identify with one of the letters. But the same general trends are being seen nationwide amid a relentless LGBT propaganda campaign by Big Media, Big Business, and Big Government-funded โeducationโ institutions at all levels.

Polling continues to show the number of self-styled LGBTQ+ people surging with each generation, with no end in sight to the increase. A Gallup poll released last year found that more than 7 percent of adults now identify as LGBTQ+. Compare that with those between the ages of 18 and 25, about 20 percent of whom told Gallup they identify as LGBTQ+.
The same trends are even happening in Americaโs most conservative states. In Utah, for example, The Newman Report highlighted data from the stateโs medical prescriptions database showing a 10,000 percent increase in the number of minor girls undergoing so-called โgender transitionsโ in the GOP-dominated state.
The data adds more evidence debunking claims of LGBTQ+ promoters that homosexuality and gender confusion is genetic. If it were, rates would remain relatively steady. As such, the unprecedented surge has been explained as โsocial contagionโ by experts, who say that choosing a letter from the LGBTQ+ spectrum is considered โtrendyโ or โcoolโ by brainwashed youngsters. Critical Theory also plays a role.
However, public approval for homosexuality and transgenderism has also been retreating. According to a recent Gallup poll, the number of Republicans who say homosexual relations are morally acceptable has plunged by 15 percent to 41 percent in just one year. Among Americans generally, numbers fell by 7 percent to well below two thirds acceptance.
Ivy League universities such as Brown are supposedly producing the future business and political leaders of tomorrow.
That means the skyrocketing number of self-proclaimed LGBTQ+ adherents has enormous implications for the future that are hard to overstate, even just from a demographic perspective as birthrates continue to plummet far beyond replacement levels. This is a crisis that must be addressed.
Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?
Hal Lindsey, in his article, “The Unraveling of the American Mind,” wrote:
In 1987, Allan Bloom, then a professor at the University of Chicago, published The Closing of the American Mind…. Bloom showed how the relativism taught at universities leads to closed minds. He lamented โparentsโ loss of control over the childrenโs moral education at a time when no one else is seriously concerned with it. The book was influential, but I wish its influence had been even greater. The Closing of the American Mind was like a sandcastle trying to hold back a rising tide.
[Today,] almost half of LGBTQ+ students have considered suicide and 37 percent of them have formed a suicide plan. These numbers are staggering. Whatโs going on? Relativism, though a huge problem, is really the symptom of a bigger problem. Youโll find the real problem laid out in Romans 1:18-32. Those verses speak of human beings โwho suppress the truth in unrighteousnessโ (vs 18). It says, โProfessing to be wise, they became foolsโ (vs 22). โThey exchanged the truth of God for a lieโ (vs 25).
Godโs judgment is to allow his repudiators to have what they desire. โGod gave them over to degrading passionsโ (vs 26). In Greek, the words translated โgave over toโ carry the connotation of โsurrender.โ In a sense, God simply lets go. Romans 1:28 is one of the saddest verses in the Bible. โJust as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind.โ God surrenders them to the consequences of their own choices and desires.
Romans 1:29-31 gives us a taste of how depravity of mind manifests itself into the world. It leads people to โunrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice.โ It goes on to say, โThey are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful.โ
We now live in that world. And we see the pain, sadness, loneliness, misery, and mental illnesses it causes. God remains all-powerful, but He allows us to choose whether we will push Him away or invite Him in. Americans as a whole have actively pushed God away for generations. We now see the sad, ugly results.
