Paul warned young Timothy that persecution would come upon those who desired to live godly lives. The godless disruptors in St. Paul entered a holy place, a sanctuary set aside for the worship of Almighty God, to prohibit it from sharing God’s Word on a Sunday morning. This is further evidence that spiritual warfare is growing in these last days. These attention-seeking, Scripture-twisting, self-righteous political activists turned the worship service into a circus, but I wonder if they realize that the forces of darkness fueled their rage.

It has become increasingly popular in recent years to accuse Bible-believing Christians of being on the wrong side of history, especially when it comes to issues of cultural morality. Modern-day would-be prophets eagerly anticipate the demise of biblical Christianity in Western civilization. They believe their ungodly views on the big questions of life will triumph and, once and for all, make the church irrelevant.

Instead of redefining truth, postmodernists have merely changed their allegiance. They have rejected the absolute authority of Almighty God and have made themselves the absolute authority for all matters of morality, purpose and destiny. Do away with the masquerade of relativism – behind all of this is a new religion of self-worship.    

The pre-tribulation rapture view makes Christ the central focus of the end times and elevates His preeminence over all. It seeks to glorify God above all. It creates authentic praise to God as the believers’ hearts swell with grateful anticipation for what comes next. It propels the church to reach the world with the urgent and important Gospel message.

God promised that once Israel was restored to the promised land, they would never again be removed from it. The promises God made to Abraham were not merely spiritual. The promises extended to the land and the people who will dwell in that land. If God broke these promises to fulfill them allegorically in the church, He is a liar. If God is a liar, His Word cannot be trusted.

When Jesus died on the cross, no one could have imagined good to result, but in God’s great plan, He won the greatest victory of all time through what others intended for evil. Only God could bring victory out of what looks like defeat and so much good from evil actions.  On a much smaller scale, Kirk’s death has been a wake-up call. Not all the ripples from Kirk’s murder have been evil or hate-filled. We can see God moving mightily in America – since Sept. 10

In a moment, with one fatal shot, the gunman killed 31-year-old Kirk, striking terror into the hearts of many. But just as on September 11, 2001, this terrorist didn’t defeat what Kirk represented. I believe what this murderer intended for evil will be turned into good, as a chorus of Christians with a biblical worldview are now emboldened to live out their faith in the public square.
