The Accuser vs Intercessor: The Devil’s Accusations Are No Match For Jesus’ Defense

Understanding how an enemy thinks is the first step in defeating him. As believers, we face a formidable enemy in the devil. Yet, thanks to God’s Word, we have a pretty good sense of how the devil thinks and works. The apostle Paul urged believers in Corinth to forgive “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2 Corinthians 2:11).

An Astonishing Biblical Passage: The Day The Graves Opened Was A Preview Of Things To Come

As Jesus hung on the cross, a lot of supernatural phenomena took place, including a mighty earthquake, the sun going dark at 12:00 noon, and the curtain in the Temple being ripped from top to bottom. But one of the most amazing things of all happened when people came out of their graves! It’s only mentioned in one Gospel. What is this all about? It is a preview of things to come.

Nothing Looms Larger In The Future Of Believers Than Jesus’ Coming—And Nothing Is More Ignored

You don’t have to deny or even question the truth of Christ’s return to miss the point of it. Many believers acknowledge that Christ will come back someday but refuse to allow His impending return to influence their daily actions and decisions. So, instead of preparing for His return and making sure their lives align with His will, they choose to do things that are wrong. They know what the Bible says but choose to ignore it. They play around with sin. They try to have their cake and eat it, too, by living as they please in the present, reasoning that they can repent in the future.

Greg Laurie: Are You In A Bleak Situation?

Greg Laurie: ‘But God’ — Two Words That Change Everything

All over Scripture we find situations that seem impossible until God steps in. Joseph’s life is a perfect example. He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. His life appeared to be one setback after another. Yet God was working behind the scenes. Years later, Joseph said to his brothers: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good” (Genesis 50:20).  There are those words: but God.

An Anything But Christ Culture: When You Say ‘I’m A Christian,’ You Can Expect Pushback, Resistance, And Persecution

Christians have been persecuted more than any other religious group. And it’s not just confined to atheistic or Islamic countries. We’re starting to see more and more persecution in the United States. We see it in the woke ideology that has infiltrated our education system. We see it permeating the military. We see it being spread by the media. I describe it as an “ABC culture”: Anything But Christ. When you stand up and say, “I’m a Christian,” you can expect pushback, resistance, and even persecution. Paul said, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). That’s a promise of God we rarely claim.

Greg Laurie: Faithful To The End

Paul’s warning resonates especially powerfully today because we’re living in what I believe to be the last days. And one of the prophetic signs we sometimes forget about is that in the last days, there will be a great apostasy, meaning that people will fall away from the Lord. According to 1 Timothy 4:1, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.”

The Dangers Of The ‘Interfaith’ Movement—And Where The Bible Says It Is Heading

Revelation 17 describes “the great prostitute” who will wreak havoc in the last days. The prostitute is the image John uses to refer to the one-world religion that will dominate the end times. Because of the imagery John uses, it’s hard to say what the false religion will teach. But it’s likely that it will combine the teachings of various major existing religions. Or that it will just gloss over the differences between religions and declare them all to be equally valid. Sound familiar?

Greg Laurie: An Unforgiving Christian Is A Contradiction In Terms

An unforgiving Christian is a contradiction in terms, an oxymoron. To say that you’re a follower of Jesus Christ and yet harbor unforgiveness in your heart is simply wrong. This reality brings us to our final amazing truth in this week’s devotions: You are never more like God than when you forgive.

Greg Laurie: The Unique Spiritual Moment I Saw At The World Trade Center Two Days After The Attack

Just two days after the attack, I was on site at the World Trade Center. The smoke was still rising from the smoldering ruins. A makeshift cross had been erected in the midst of it. There was shrapnel in the buildings around it. And on the walls were posters with images of missing people. Sadness permeated everything. We fed people there and supported the work of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which had set up booths throughout New York City, offering prayer.

Boldly Reaching The ‘Hopeless Generation’: Charlie Kirk’s Legacy—One Year After His Death

Two months after Charlie was murdered, we went to the very campus where it happened—Utah Valley University—and held a Harvest Crusade. We saw many people—college students—give their lives to Jesus Christ. I believe this is a watershed moment—a turning point, especially for the younger generation. Young people, this is your moment. It’s time to stop trying to fit in and be cool. Instead, be bold and courageous. In fact, that may be the coolest thing you can do. Charlie was bold about his faith to the very end, and so should we be.

Greg Laurie: When The Letter From God Himself Goes Unread

What if you had a handwritten note sent to you from God Himself? Would you carry it around in your pocket for a couple of weeks and open it when you got around to it? I doubt it. You probably would tear it open as you’re thinking, “Wow, God spoke to me! What does He have to say?” The Bible is a written letter from God. Many people carry it around. They have it in different colors and sizes. They have it in different translations. They even have it on their phones and devices. But they never open it. A letter from God Himself goes unread.

The Legacies of Two Georges: Laying The Fertile Spiritual Ground For A Nation

The strong faith of two men named George played a key role in shaping the United States of America. The first was George Whitefield, our spiritual founding father. He was a British evangelist who came to our shores to preach the gospel. As a result of his ministry, thousands of colonists came to Christ. It was the first great spiritual awakening in what would become known as the United States of America.

Greg Laurie: Give Only Our Best To The King Of Kings

If God is important, then why do we give Him our leftovers? God certainly doesn’t want our leftovers. He makes that quite clear in Scripture. God said to Israel, “Cursed is the cheat who promises to give a fine ram from his flock but then sacrifices a defective one to the Lord. For I am a great king . . . and my name is feared among the nations!” (Malachi 1:14).

Have you ever felt a longing you couldn’t quite explain? Like birds, we have a “homing instinct.” We too have a desire to go to a place we’ve never been before. But what exactly is Heaven like?

Can The Liberties Of A Nation Be Secure When We Forget The God Who Gave Them?

On the wall of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, are these words from President Thomas Jefferson: “God who gave us life gave is liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.”

Greg Laurie: Righteous and Perfect Justice

God reveals Himself to us in His Word. We know that God is holy because in Isaiah’s vision of Him, heavenly creatures declare, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts” (Isaiah 6:3). We know that God is righteous and just because Psalm 11:7 says, “The righteous Lord loves justice.” Holiness describes God’s character; righteousness and justice describe how He deals with humankind.

Why Following God’s Will Doesn’t Mean ‘Smooth Sailing’

Many Christians are tempted to believe the lie that when we’re in the will of God, everything will be smooth sailing. But often just the opposite is true. Doors slam in our faces. Obstacles appear in our paths. Storms arise that threaten to drive us off course.

Christians Are Under Attack Like Never Before, But Much Of The Church Is Sleeping Through The War

The church is under attack like never before. It is under attack around the world. And it is under attack in our own nation. Our culture summarily mocks, marginalizes, and dismisses Christians as lunatics. Overseas, communists and Islamic terrorists are murdering our brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s enough to cause a Christian to become downright discouraged. But I have good news for you today: We may lose a battle here or there, but we’re going to win the war.

Greg Laurie: The Danger Of Neglecting Prayer

The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). It doesn’t say that we should only pray about some things or the big, scary things, but about everything.

Greg Laurie: The Best Evangelism Lessons Billy Graham Taught Me

As I wrote illustrations for Billy Graham’s sermons, I naturally spent a lot of time with him. I traveled with him, asked him many questions, and analyzed everything he did as he preached. I watched him pray. I watched him deliver altar calls. I watched him as he went onto stage. I was there for it all. And as Billy was coming to the end of his crusade ministry, I was just at the beginning of mine. Here’s what he taught me about evangelism.

Called Out From The Culture: The Hope For America Is The Church

I believe that the hope for America is the church—God working through his church. Christians need to live up to their name. As Christ followers, we need to be Christlike. And if the church would be what it was meant to be, then it would change our nation. But let’s localize it. If your church would be what it ought to be, it could change your city. It could change your county, and it could change your state. Let’s localize it even more. If you would be what you ought to be as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a part of the church, then what a difference it could make in your church.

Greg Laurie: What Is Heaven Like? Common Questions Answered.

Have you ever felt a longing you couldn’t quite explain? Like birds, we have a “homing instinct.” We too have a desire to go to a place we’ve never been before. Of course, that place is called Heaven. Deep inside, we all long for something more. The Bible puts it this way, “[God has] has planted eternity in the human heart” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

A True Media Pioneer: How Billy Graham Revolutionized The Use Of Radio, Television, And Print To Share The Gospel

It may surprise you to know that, in addition to being an evangelist, Billy Graham was a true media pioneer. He was able to use the technology of his day and take it to a whole new level, using it not only to spread the gospel but to give him a platform from which he could further minister to millions. Although Howard Stern likes to claim the title for himself, Billy Graham was really “the king of all media.”

A Rejoicing Shepherd: What Makes God Happy According to the Bible?

Jesus compared Himself to a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find one stray sheep—and comes home rejoicing: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4). That’s how much we matter to Him.
