Following a three-year legal battle waged by nurses in Darlington, England, the National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust for County Durham and Darlington has finally changed its staff changing-room policy. “In accordance with [the] U.K. Supreme Court ruling (2025), staff must use changing spaces according to their biological sex,” the new policy states. “Alternative unisex changing spaces are provided for staff who choose not to use an alternative facility.”

The group filed a referendum petition Sept. 2 with Secretary of State Bill Galvin and began seeking volunteers to encourage people to sign the petition. They needed to obtain 37,289 certified signatures by Oct. 23 in order to add the repeal to the 2028 ballot, and if they could obtain 49,716, the law could be suspended pending the result of the 2028 voting. The coalition announced this week that they had submitted 99,962 signatures to city and town clerks, well above the threshold to suspend the law. “The people of Massachusetts did not ask for abortion through all nine months, and in a matter of weeks they made that clear.”

Leaders of the Afghanistan Bible Society blazed new ground Oct. 24 by helping launch satellite Christian television and online programming into a country where owning a Bible and publicly worshipping Jesus Christ are forbidden. Mozhda TV is the first exclusively Christian channel broadcast into Afghanistan, where the authoritarian Taliban took control in 2021 and instituted strict Sharia law, destroying public displays of Christianity, banning Bibles and barring women and girls from access to education. Christians in the Muslim-majority nation live under constant threat of being discovered and reported.

A conservative legal group has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Virginia pastor aimed at stopping a proposed state amendment that would redefine marriage in the Virginia Constitution. The Richmond-based Founding Freedoms Law Center filed the suit Oct. 22 in the circuit court of Prince William County on behalf of Ben Purves, pastor of community and member care at Occoquan Bible Church in Woodbridge, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., challenging the proposed Amendment 2 on procedural grounds. Purves and a group of fellow pastors are also calling on Virginians to fast and pray on Election Day.

During a recent podcast interview with Sean Hannity making the rounds on social media—including a wide range of topics from AI and the midterm elections to Israel and End-Times prophecy—Franklin Graham repeatedly pointed to Jesus Christ as the ultimate answer for a world longing for lasting peace and hope. Citing news headlines about the creators of the leading artificial intelligence platforms warning that AI could pose an existential threat to humanity, the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, told the Fox News Channel host, “My hope is in Jesus Christ.”

“We want to preserve laws that respect a parent’s right to guard and guide their minor daughters  through any critical pregnancy decision,” she writes. “We need to make sure that women are receiving pregnancy treatment from licensed Virginia doctors and medical professionals. Finally, we do not need to see Virginia laws being made by judges and not our own elected officials. The use of this amendment as a jumping off point for endless litigation to remove standing laws puts the well-being of women, girls, and their children in a dangerous place. Ballot Question 1 is simply another example of politics being put ahead of women’s safety. The deceptive wording of the ballot question only confirms it.”
