Anne Graham Lotz: Love So Amazing

Anne Graham Lotz

Romans 8:32 KJV – “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

In the Old Testament, Abraham’s faith was tested when God told him to take his son, his only son, the son he loved, and offer him as a sacrifice (Genesis 22). And Abraham did. Abraham bound Isaac to the altar and raised his knife to slay him in strict obedience to God’s Word. Just before the gleaming knife plunged down, God leaned out of heaven and urgently commanded, “Abraham, Abraham… Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me,” and Isaac’s life was spared! Abraham looked around; caught in the thicket nearby was a ram. After cutting Isaac loose, Abraham took the ram and offered it on the altar.

As God’s Son, God’s only Son, the Son He loved, hung on the Cross, the knife of God’s fierce wrath against sin was lifted, and there was no one to stay the Father’s hand. Instead, “He . . . did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all.” Jesus was God’s Lamb and our Substitute Who endured the full force of God’s wrath for your sins and mine when He was bound on the altar in our place.

Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul, my all!

Sunday’s Invasion At Cities Church Shows The Deeply Spiritual Side To The Marxist Movement

Paul warned young Timothy that persecution would come upon those who desired to live godly lives. The godless disruptors in St. Paul entered a holy place, a sanctuary set aside for the worship of Almighty God, to prohibit it from sharing God’s Word on a Sunday morning. This is further evidence that spiritual warfare is growing in these last days. These attention-seeking, Scripture-twisting, self-righteous political activists turned the worship service into a circus, but I wonder if they realize that the forces of darkness fueled their rage.

Compromise Is A Gospel Issue, And We Must Not Back Down

For too long we have allowed Christian truth to be gnawed at until it becomes barely recognisable from the beliefs and expressions of our forefathers. If Christians are free to speak the truth, we must also be free to challenge the invasions—however subtle—which seek to subvert the truth too.

In An Ever Darkening World, We Can Find Solace In Bible Prophecy

The bright side of the growing evil in the world is that it is a sure sign that we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. If you will check Genesis 6, you will find that Noah’s society was characterized by violence and immorality. This is the reason that the great pastor, Adrian Rogers (1931-2005), once said, “The world is growing gloriously dark.” How can the acceleration of evil be considered “glorious”? Because it is a sign of the imminent return of Jesus.
