Barry Stagner: How To Be Free From Man’s Greatest Fear

Barry Stagner

Hebrews 2:14–15 KJV – “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

I have often said that I am not afraid of dying, though I do have some concerns about the method! Like most people, I would prefer to go in the rapture or die in my sleep, but the fact is, the great enemy, the second death, is no real concern of mine.

What many people truly fear, I have no fear of at all. I am not bothered by the question, what happens after we die? I know exactly what’s going to happen to me after I die or after the rapture comes: I am going to heaven! I live with no fear or worry about my eternal existence, because Jesus became flesh and died for my sins. In doing that, He destroyed the true power of death—the death of the soul.

I have no fear of going to hell or being rejected by God when I arrive in heaven. I don’t worry whether my good deeds have outweighed my bad; I already know the answer to that! But I am not going to heaven because of good deeds or bad deeds, even though my life as a Christian will be examined by fire and tested for purity. I am going to heaven because Jesus tasted death for me. What I deserved, He endured; what I earned as punishment, He paid. That leaves me free to live fearless of what lies beyond the grave.

Dear brother or sister, if that truth doesn’t put some “glide in your stride” today, I don’t know what will. Go out and face the world today as though your eternal destiny is secure in Christ, because it is! Go out and live in front of others today as though you know that you know that heaven is your eternal home, because it is!

Living like that makes you intriguing to those overwhelmed by this world’s pressures and pains. And you never know, your attitude of gratitude just might open a door for you to tell someone else how to be free from man’s greatest fear: the question of what happens after death. I know and every Christian knows the answer to that question, and when what we know shows, others are going to want it.

Tell someone today that heaven is your future home and can be theirs too!

Utterly Unbiblical: ‘Pastor’ Claims God Had A Wife That Was Worshipped By Ancient Israel, Condemns Destruction Of Idols

What happens when you reject God’s Word as your authority and instead base your thinking on fallen man’s fallible word? Well, you might end up standing in a church pulpit and telling your congregation that God had a wife and that King Josiah was wrong for destroying the Asherah poles. Yes, this “pastor” really claims the Israelites worshipped Yahweh as God along with Asherah as a female god, and that no one had a problem with it for a very long time. He then bemoans how hard it must have been for the Israelite women and girls when King Josiah ordered the Asherah poles to be chopped down—who would they now look up to and pray to without a “queen of heaven”?

Then The Rains Came: Like The Days Of Noah, People Reject God’s Imminent Judgment

In Matthew 24:37-40, Jesus compared the time before His return to the “days of Noah.” The Lord’s comparison was not just with the evil of the world before the flood, but with the complete unawareness that judgment was imminent. They lived as though nothing could possibly interfere with their lives and future aspirations. Then the rains came.

‘A Firm Reliance On The Protection Of Divine Providence’: Finding The Way Back As One Nation Under God

It is no secret that America has largely turned its back on God. Children are encouraged to find their own truth from a young age, and mentions of God in our public schools are brushed aside or removed. Church attendance is rapidly declining as self-help strategies promise the answers to life’s problems. We’ve traded Divine guidance for subjective truth—“it’s up to me decide what is right and wrong.” And even the concept of biological sex and gender is up to the preference of each individual. It is clear that secularism has infiltrated every aspect of society, and the results are catastrophic. The further we stray from God, the deeper we sink into hopelessness.
