Bernie Sanders: No Place for Pro-Life Democrats

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said during a Feb. 8 presidential forum in Concord, New Hampshire, that “being pro-choice is an absolutely essential part of being a Democrat.”

Isaiah 5:20-21 KJV – “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”

This was in response to MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle asking Sanders, “Is there such a thing as a pro-life Democrat in your vision of the party?”

“By this time in history,” he added, “I think when we talk about what a Democrat is, I think being pro-choice is an essential part of that.”

The night before, during ABC’s Democratic debate, Sanders vowed to only nominate pro-abortion justices if he becomes president.

“I will never nominate any person to the Supreme Court or the federal courts in general who is not 100% pro-Roe v. Wade,” he pledged.

Sanders also promised to further strengthen Roe v. Wadelater writing on Twitter, “We have got to codify Roe v. Wade into law and significantly expand funding for Planned Parenthood.”

What Sanders fails to recognize—or ignores—is that 29% of Democrats self-identify as pro-life, according to a 2019 Gallup poll.

“Here’s Bernie Sanders officially excommunicating pro-life Democrats,” tweeted Robert George, Princeton University jurisprudence professor and former chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Freedom. “… So: If you’re pro-life, you are unacceptable, unwanted, an intruder. Time to go elsewhere.”

Kristen Day, executive director of Democrats for Life of America, has been a registered Democratic voter since 1988. But even she admitted her party has shifted too far left.

“The reality today is that the Democratic Party, hounded by abortion extremists, is deep in the pockets of the pro-choice lobby,” Day wrote in an opinion piece for USA Today. “As much as today’s candidates talk about ending big money in politics, they make one major exception: the family planning and abortion lobby, a $3 billion industry that pads the wallets of political candidates to protect its own interests.

“The pro-life movement today is more inclusive than ever. The Democratic Party and its presidential candidates—less so,” Day said.

An Emboldened Iran: What Is Driving The Regime’s Confidence And What Happens Next?

As we look at news developments in the Middle East, it seems that neither side is budging, and nobody knows for sure what is coming next. The regime in Iran is entirely indifferent to its country's economy and people. They would rather see a total implosion of their nation than wave the white flag of defeat. This mentality stems from the regime's eschatological position of Shiite Islam. They believe that their “Mahdi” will come at a time when the world is in utter chaos—and they revel in the idea that they can help usher in that chaos. How do you negotiate with people who hold to such a warped ideology?

While Unrestrained Enmity Remains The Ideological Engine Of Australia, ‘Social Cohesion’ Is A Mirage

Although it remains a confusing and somewhat vague idea, across the Australian political spectrum we have recently seen the rise of a newly favored phrase: “social cohesion.” Because Australian politicians are now using it with such regularity, it is helpful to understand what it means to the ruling class, how they propose to achieve it, and how it is measured.

A Society That Does Not Value Human Life Is On A Slippery Slope Toward Destruction

The Founding Fathers dreamed of a place where all people could live in true freedom. This could be possible only in a country built upon Biblical values. Billy Graham once said, “America has probably been the most successful experiment in history. The American Dream was a glorious attempt. It was built on a religious foundation. Its earliest concepts came from Holy Scripture.”
