Disturbing Government Inaction: As Antisemitism Engulfs Canada, Jews Seek Help Escaping To America

(Regina, Canada) — President Donald Trump has indicated support for a “Christian-backed plan to help Canadian Jews escape antisemitism,” according to a striking report published by Fox News on Sunday.

The article detailed:

Jewish Canadians facing rising antisemitism might have President Donald Trump’s support for an expedited legal pathway into the United States.

Trump shared a report on the plan Sunday with his millions of followers on Truth Social, amplifying the appeal as Christian lawmakers and religious leaders press his administration to act because of a “disproportionate” amount of antisemitic incidents north of the U.S. border.

The National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) founder and President Jason Rapert told Fox News Digital from Israel on Sunday morning that he wants Trump to press Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney directly on the perceived “roadblocks” set up against the “quick recognition of the plight” of thousands of Jewish Canadians fearing for their safety.

“We will find out” if Canada is getting in the way of the more than 2,000 Jewish Canadians who have expressed interest in relocating, Rapert said.

“Trump should ask Carney right now,” he added. “Canada should be embarrassed and ashamed of these perceived roadblocks. And we’re trying to rally leaders to take a stand.”

The comments come after the NACL and its partners asked Trump to direct the State Department and Department of Homeland Security to create “lawful, secure, and appropriately expedited pathways” for Jewish Canadians and their immediate family members who face persecution or can credibly demonstrate fears for their safety because they are Jewish.

“For generations, America has served as a refuge for people fleeing religious persecution,” the group wrote in a letter Thursday to Trump. “We urge you to ensure that, consistent with federal law and the security interests of the United States, that door remains open to our Jewish brothers and sisters in Canada who need it today.”

“Recent data demonstrate that Jewish Canadians are being targeted at a grossly disproportionate rate, while community-based reporting reflects thousands of antisemitic incidents across Canada,” Rapert wrote. “These numbers represent more than statistics. They represent families who increasingly question whether they can safely send their children to Jewish schools, worship openly, display their faith publicly, or continue building their lives in communities where they no longer feel secure.”

Canada needs to wake up and stomp out the antisemitic hate that has engulfed the country. When Canadian leaders such as Prime Minister Mark Carney are urged to address the growing problem of Jew hatred, the “plan” is all talk. “Let’s form a committee,” they say, while no concrete action is taken.

“Across our country, antisemitism has surged to levels not seen in the post-war period,” Carney recently acknowledged. “Last year, over two-thirds of all religion-motivated hate crimes were directed at Jewish Canadians who make up only 1% of the population.”

“Last year, the Government announced more than $36 million for projects to help counter violent extremism,” the Prime Minister stated. “This April, we committed an additional $75 million through the Canada Community Security Program… I am pleased to announce the launch and membership of Canada’s new Ministerial Advisory Council on Rights, Equality, and Inclusion… The Council has a clear mission: to combat racism and hate in all their forms.”

For the past 10 years of Liberal government, Canada has opened up its borders with a flood of Islamists, repeatedly stated that “Muslim values are Canadian values,” and allowed non-stop Palestinian protests to vilify Israel and the Jewish communities. Now, as the ramifications become too blatant to ignore, the hollow solution proposed to combat the crisis is another “committee.”

The committee itself is incredibly flawed.

Among the nine members of this Ministerial Advisory Committee is Omar Alghabra, a former Liberal MP and Federal Minister of Transport, who was born in Saudi Arabia to Syrian parents and later immigrated to Canada. Alghabra has a clear conflict of interest when it comes to standing with Israel and the Jewish people. While, to his credit, he did condemn Hamas’s attacks on October 7th, 2023, as “horrific” and “unjustifiable,” in the same statement, he took the opportunity to criticize Israel: “The images of mass destruction of Gaza are horrifying. Civilians in Gaza are defenseless, and Israel has obligations under international law.”

Alghabra is also a strong advocate for a Palestinian state, was once involved in the Canadian Arab Federation, and has made disturbing comments about the late Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Yasser Arafat, praising the role he played in bringing international attention to the  “Palestinian struggle.” I can assure you, there is nothing to praise about Yasser Arafat, who was directly involved in terrorism against Israel.

Another member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee is Avnish Nanda, an Edmonton-based constitutional lawyer who has significant flaws when it comes to standing up for Israel and the Jewish people. His work has included charter litigation and advocacy concerning multiculturalism, pluralism, and anti-immigrant sentiment. Most recently, Nanda chose to represent pro-Palestinian plaintiffs who are suing the University of Alberta over the removal of a pro-Palestinian encampment in 2024.

While I did not see the encampment in Edmonton, I personally witnessed those in Ontario, and I am sure they featured all the same alarming antics. There is nothing wholesome about these encampments. They demonized Israel and the Jewish people—and Nanda is defending them in the courts.

Canada has serious problems. The Liberal Party is not going to do anything to stomp out this anti-Semitic hate—and neither is the “Advisory Committee.” You can be assured that the hatred of Jews will continue to flourish unless there is a leadership change, which is desperately needed.

I am grieved by the idea that Jewish Canadians are thinking of fleeing to the United States for refuge because Canada can’t (or refuses to) protect them.

What is happening to the wonderful country of Canada?

Let me remind you of a clear command—not a suggestion—from the God of the universe: “Comfort, yes, comfort My people! Says your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand Double for all her sins” (Isaiah 40:1-2).

The question I’m asking today is: are we being a comfort to God’s chosen people, or are we turning our backs on them?

I pray that Canada changes course—and it does it fast. God’s promise in Genesis 12:3 still stands today: He will bless those who bless His chosen people and curse those who curse them.

Israel Is The Villain To Blame For Fueling Jew Hatred, Australian Writer Claims

Flanagan’s speech takes contested allegations and tries to present them as verifiable facts. Sadly, those who are ignorant of the past, present, and future of Israel according to God’s Word will naively accept Flanagan’s claims without further investigation. The reality is that without a proper understanding of the Bible, Flanagan (and others like him) are only able to offer an opinion which is based on faulty and incomplete data, deceiving themselves and others. Flanagan ends his speech by saying: "It’s time each of us began to walk towards our most fundamental freedom—to name, to point, to bear witness to the truth." How ironic.

Utterly Unbiblical: ‘Pastor’ Claims God Had A Wife That Was Worshipped By Ancient Israel, Condemns Destruction Of Idols

What happens when you reject God’s Word as your authority and instead base your thinking on fallen man’s fallible word? Well, you might end up standing in a church pulpit and telling your congregation that God had a wife and that King Josiah was wrong for destroying the Asherah poles. Yes, this “pastor” really claims the Israelites worshipped Yahweh as God along with Asherah as a female god, and that no one had a problem with it for a very long time. He then bemoans how hard it must have been for the Israelite women and girls when King Josiah ordered the Asherah poles to be chopped down—who would they now look up to and pray to without a “queen of heaven”?

‘A Firm Reliance On The Protection Of Divine Providence’: Finding The Way Back As One Nation Under God

It is no secret that America has largely turned its back on God. Children are encouraged to find their own truth from a young age, and mentions of God in our public schools are brushed aside or removed. Church attendance is rapidly declining as self-help strategies promise the answers to life’s problems. We’ve traded Divine guidance for subjective truth—“it’s up to me decide what is right and wrong.” And even the concept of biological sex and gender is up to the preference of each individual. It is clear that secularism has infiltrated every aspect of society, and the results are catastrophic. The further we stray from God, the deeper we sink into hopelessness.
