Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who ruled the Islamic Republic of Iran since 1989 after serving as president in the 1980s, was killed at the age of 86 in a joint US-Israeli military strike on Tehran. It’s a pivotal moment in modern history, bringing an end to the Islamic regime’s brutal dictator.
In a post on X, exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi celebrated Khamenei’s death, “Ali Khamenei, the bloodthirsty despot of our time, the murderer of tens of thousands of Iranโs bravest sons and daughters, has been erased from the face of history. With his death, the Islamic Republic has in effect reached its end and will very soon be consigned to the dustbin of history.”
“Honorable and courageous people of Iran, this may be the beginning of our great national celebration, but it is not the end of the road,” he further wrote. “Remain vigilant and prepared. The time for a widespread and decisive presence in the streets is very near.”
Pahlavi concluded, “Together, united and steadfast, we will bring about the final victory, and we will celebrate Iranโs freedom across our beloved homeland.”
Here’s my take.
Khamenei spent the better part of his life terrorizing the Middle East and the world with his desire to spread the Islamic Republic’s hateful ideology. He influenced the rise of Hamas and Hezbollah, terrorist organizations bent on the destruction of the Jewish State and God’s chosen people. He announced “death to America” and “death to Israel,” but his reign of terror ends with hope for the Iranian people. Hope that their freedom is near on the horizon.
