‘Victory In Spite Of All Terror’: Why Comparisons Between Netanyahu and Churchill Are So Appropriate

Mike Spaulding

I recently watched a journalist employed by Sky News Australia share her impressions of an extended meeting she was granted with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The contrast between her comments and the largely ignorant, disconnected, and outright malicious lies of the American mainstream media could not be starker.

The Australian journalist compared the privilege of being able to sit with Mr. Netanyahu to what it would have been like for journalists during World War II to sit with Prime Minster Winston Churchill at the height of England’s conflict with Nazi Germany. How appropriate this comparison is at this important time cannot be understated.

Consider this timeless statement: “Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.”

This was part of a speech that Churchill gave to the British House of Commons on May 13, 1940, concerning the threat that Nazi Germany posed for a free world. It could have easily been something that Mr. Netanyahu said in relation to the global threat that terrorism poses, specifically, the terrorism financed by the Islamic nation of Iran. The circumstances are the same.

I also found the comparison between Churchill and Netanyahu revealing for a number of other reasons.

First, it was an accurate assessment of the importance of Netanyahu’s unflinching resolve to bring his people and nation to victory over a lethal terrorist enemy. History has shown that the Nazis collaborated with the Islamists in their “final solution” strategy to murder as many Jewish people as time and money would permit.

The Islamists have not forsaken the dream of the total annihilation of the Jewish people, even though nearly 80 years have passed since the defeat of the Nazis.

Second, in spite of the threat to Israel’s very existence, the United States government under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris continues to send clear signals to Israel’s enemies to hold on a little longer, and they will be rewarded for their barbarity.

There are a number of examples which illustrate this fact. The stalling of needed weapons and armaments as a negotiation tactic by Biden is indefensible. The unceasing pressure being applied to Netanyahu by the Biden-Harris regime to stop the war with Hamas and Hezbollah has included recruiting Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to openly oppose Netanyahu’s leadership and execution of the war.

The pressure placed on Israel not to decisively deal with Iran by targeting its nuclear capabilities as well as oil refining infrastructure โ€“ the lifeblood of their terrorist funding economy โ€“ is evidence enough that Islamists and other America-hating rogue politicians are deliberately attempting to ensure the ayatollahs remain in power. Meanwhile, Israel and its citizens remain the target of Iran’s murderous hatred.

Since when does a nation at war not deliberately target economic assets that would bring a swift end to an ongoing conflict? Biden and Harris will forever be remembered as anti-Israel zealots if history is recorded accurately.

Finally, the Biden-Harris regime has repeatedly attempted to force Netanyahu into ceasefire negotiations that would lead to the continued existence of Hamas and Hezbollah. A ceasefire would undoubtedly help the terror groups regroup and restock arms to be used in future attacks on Israel. They also expect Israel to agree to these terms without any guarantee that the hostages taken on October 7, 2023, are alive or will be returned.

Isn’t it enough incentive to know that Russia and China have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in terrorist weaponry for Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and Iran? Doesn’t that alone show the demand for the United States to support Israel in the destruction of the Islamic Iranian regime?

Fortunately, today, some global leaders are rising up and praising Israel for doing the entire world a favor by eliminating terrorist leadership wherever they are found. One example among several is Canada’s Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who recently stated: “I think the idea of allowing a genocidal, theocratic, unstable dictatorship that is desperate to avoid being overthrown by its own people to develop nuclear weapons is about the most dangerous and irresponsible thing that the world could ever allow. If Israel were to stop that genocidal, theocratic, unstable government from acquiring nuclear weapons, it would be a gift by the Jewish state to humanity.”

What are the odds that the Biden-Harris regime will stop lying long enough to tell the truth about Israel, namely that the world is a better and safer place when Iran is rendered harmless?

We all owe Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a debt of gratitude for their perseverance in destroying once and for all the terror masters in Iranโ€”just as we do for those who were determined to bring an end to the genocidal Nazi regime.

A great day of reckoning is coming upon all the nations who have attacked and harmed Israel.

Never forget the decree of God concerning His people, Israel: “For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye” (Zechariah 2:8).

In-Depth: Safeguarding Freedomโ€”A Biblical Model For Defending Our Civic And Religious Rights

Since religious freedom has been a hot-button social issue and is more and more frequently covered in secular and Christian news media outlets, we sometimes are asked these questions. Does the Bible address religious freedom, and, if so, what does it say and where? The Apostle Paul (and his traveling companions on various mission trips) is perhaps the most notable example of a biblical figure who suffered religious persecution and also on occasion stood up for his religious liberty. It is interesting that Paul did so in a government that had some similarities to Western nations.

There Is No Middle Ground With Christโ€”If You Arenโ€™t For Jesus, Youโ€™re Against Him

As an evangelist, I take sharing the Word of God and the hope of Jesus Christ very seriously. The way I look at it, eternity is at stake every time I stand up at the podium. When eternity is on the lineโ€”the difference between Heaven and Hellโ€”I donโ€™t pull punches. People need to know that both are real, literal places, and surrendering oneโ€™s life to Jesus is the difference. There is no middle ground with Christ. If you arenโ€™t for Jesus, youโ€™re against Him.

Jan Markell: You Canโ€™t Have A Genuine Revival With False Doctrine Raging

I hear a dozen evangelists stating that we are on the verge of a great revival. One self-proclaimed prophet says that a billion souls will come to faith in the coming weeks and months. If my Rapture is imminent, how can there be an imminent revival? Which is it? The Bible does talk about a coming revival. The question concerns its timing. Is it in the coming days, or is it after the Rapture when the โ€œleft behindโ€ world realizes they should have listened to believers like you and me, get a second chance, and multitudes come to faith?
