Canadian PM Weaponizes Income Tax Act To Go After Churches, Pro-Life Groups

The latest ministry mandate letter issued by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland orders Freeland to weaponize the Income Tax Act to go after churches and crisis pregnancy centres.

According to the letter, these organizations could be stripped of their charitable status for “dishonest counselling.”

The directive from the desk of the PMO demands Freeland:

“Introduce amendments to the Income Tax Act to make anti-abortion organizations that provide dishonest counselling to pregnant women about their rights and options ineligible for charitable status, and to expand the Medical Expense Tax Credit to include costs reimbursed to surrogate mothers for IVF expenses. You will be supported in this work by the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth.”

As part of an ongoing war on religious practice in Canada, Trudeau’s Liberals recently introduced an overly broad ban on conversion therapy that outlawed consensual bible-based counselling for same-sex attracted adults.

HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?

The Liberal Government in Canada, under Justin Trudeau, has worked actively to ban Biblical morality in the country. This initiative has been gaining ground in Canada since Trudeau’s election six years ago.

Christian author Terry James explained early this year, that “before going on a radio program in Canada” he was told not to “mention anything about LGBTQ or transsexual matters” because “the station would be fined and punished—possibly taken off the air permanently—if those matters were addressed” from a Biblical perspective.

Despite dangerous laws and mandates, which if used to their full extent, could outlaw the Bible or threaten Biblically teaching ministries, Churches in the country have largely been silent.

A falsehood, sadly, often espoused by Canadian Pastors is that “politics” doesn’t belong on the pulpit. However, as Ontario Pastor Aaron Rock insists, “every pulpit is political.”

“Every pulpit is political. The preacher either follows politically-correct culture or, when necessary, challenges it like Moses challenged Pharoah, or Elijah challenged Ahab. Politically-neutral pulpits are a myth,” he explained on Twitter.

Those who familiarize themselves with history, know that there are deadly ramifications when a government seeks to intimidate Christians into being silent on Biblical truth and Churches who opt to comply with such overreach.

“In Hitler’s Germany, he convinced the masses that Jews were bad. In Trudeau’s Canada, he’s convincing the masses that Judeo-Christian values are bad,” Pastor Rock stated earlier this month.

Historians have often stated, that if the Churches in Nazi Germany were more vocal and uncompromising, the population may not have so easily accepted the government’s anti-Semitic and wicked propaganda.

If the government is able to censor Christian messages without push-back, the next stage, as seen in nazi Germany, is to force their own messages through the pulpit. As Canadians recently learned, that is not a far-fetched scenario. Canadian Pastor, Arthur Palawski, was ordered by a judge in October to preach the government’s views on the coronavirus from the pulpit because the pastor was “on the wrong side of science” according to the judge.

We were told in the last days “all who live godly in Christ” will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).

Christians have a responsibility to, by the Holy Spirit, work to be a restraining force to the evil of the present day (2 Thessalonians 2:7). We need to be unwilling to be censored from saying truth from the word of God, even if we face man’s consequences. We need to not allow the godless agendas this world is propagating to be pushed through our pulpits as well. We need to instead unashamedly counteract lies with Biblical accuracy, free of conforming, toning down, or silencing our message.

Compromise doesn’t save the lost. The perfect truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ does.

The Freedom To Stand On God’s Word: White House Commission Releases 200-Page Report On Safeguarding Religious Liberty

The stories, collected from seven hearings held by the commission, came from parents, students, school teachers, military chaplains, military service members and health care workers, as well as private sector employees and religious institution leaders. Referring to the witnesses, Commissioner Franklin Graham said that there is “a thread that runs through all … these [testimonies], and that is the thread of what’s right and having the guts to stand for what’s right.” The report said the witnesses’ “commitment to stand by their beliefs” has played a “consequential role in preserving religious liberty for all Americans.

Our Founders Unashamedly Endorsed A Recognition That The Affairs Of Men Are Subject To God’s Overarching Authority

I was alive in 1976, when America celebrated its bicentennial. Now, just fifty years later, many in our own country would rather denounce than celebrate our national heritage. Their scorn is heaped highest on the faith foundations our Founders unashamedly endorsed: reverence for God, respect for the Savior, and a recognition that the affairs of men are subject to His overarching authority. We’ve come a long way—in the wrong direction.

Thomas Jefferson’s ‘Separation Of Church And State’ Never Meant Keeping God Out Of Government

In context, it’s clear this wall of separation was not created to keep religion out of the State. It was simply intended to protect religious freedom and to place boundaries on the State’s control over the Church. In fact, the United States Capitol served as a church building for seven decades and Jefferson himself was a regular attendee. He attended so faithfully that he earned a reserved seat. On the Sunday after he wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists, he attended church services at the still-under-construction Capitol.
