SCOTUS Unanimously Rules Gov’t Can’t Discriminate Against Faith Bases Organizations

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that Philadelphia was wrong to reject Catholic Social Services because the group said it wouldn’t violate its religious beliefs about sexuality.

The city had limited ties with the agency which had declined to place children with same-sex couples.

The court has ruled in the case, Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, “The refusal of Philadelphia to contract with CSS for the provision of foster care services unless CSS agrees to certify same-sex couples as foster parents violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.”

“The City’s actions burdened CSS’s religious exercise by forcing it either to curtail its mission or to certify same-sex couples as foster parents in violation of its religious beliefs,” the high court ruled.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote, “The refusal of Philadelphia to contract with CSS for the provision of foster care services unless it agrees to certify same-sex couples as foster parents cannot survive strict scrutiny, and violates the First Amendment.”

The city of Philadelphia created an issue where there wasn’t one because Catholic Social Services says no same-sex couples ever asked to work with them. CSS says if that did happen they would refer the couple to another group. Due to its biblical beliefs, the agency also does not certify unmarried couples.

First Liberty Institute’s President and Chief Counsel Kelly Shackelford said, “Punishing religious organizations for acting consistently with their sincerely held religious beliefs is wrong. The Court ensured that religious adoption providers can continue their centuries-old work serving families and children without suffering government discrimination because they believe that the best home for a child includes a mother and father. This is a tremendous victory for religious liberty.”

The Christian Alliance for Orphans is also applauding the ruling.  “This Fulton ruling means that people of diverse convictions can still serve side by side for the good of vulnerable children in our communities,” said President Jedd Medefind in a statement. “Even in very difficult issues, we can find solutions that work for all. That means more welcoming homes for the 400,000+ children in foster care.”

The Christian Alliance for Orphans is a coalition of 190 Christian organizations and over 650 churches, helping Christians to live out the Bible’s call to care for orphans and vulnerable children.

Franklin Graham, responded to this news via Facebook, commending the supreme court for this major win for religious freedom:

In a major win for religious freedom today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled with a Catholic adoption agency that would not work with LGBT couples. The vote was unanimous. I am thankful that our Supreme Court justices saw the importance of this issue under the law. Religious agencies and organizations should not be forced to go against their beliefs and biblical standards. In this case, the city of Philadelphia was refusing to use a Catholic adoption agency because their religious beliefs prevent them from working with same-sex foster parents. Let’s give thanks to God that the Supreme Court ruled correctly.

Michele Bachmann’s Advice To The President: ‘Take The Handcuffs Off Of Israel’

Michele Bachmann, a former congresswoman, 2012 Presidential Candidate, and outspoken friend of the Jewish State, advised the President to “take the handcuffs off of Israel” and enable the nation to handle its own self-defense unencumbered. On the premiere episode of “Falling Into Place” alongside co-host Jan Markell, Bachmann noted that Israel is being strong-armed into absorbing attacks on its nation—something that the United States, if it were in the same position, would never deem acceptable.

The Slippery Slope Of Australia’s Spirituality: A Deliberate Campaign Of Atheism

On 29 July 2026, the church that I pastor played host for the Brisbane leg of a tour of Australia by Amir Tsarfati and Pastor Barry Stagner. On that blessed evening, over 1,000 people gathered together for praise, powerful preaching, prayer, and of course, photos with these two beloved servants of God. Even though we hired a large venue for the evening, seating was limited. This meant that, sadly, many missed out on being able to attend. One such person who was not able to secure tickets remarked that it would be wonderful if this was the dilemma faced by every Bible-believing church in Australia on a Sunday morning. Yet Australia's overall spiritual landscape suggest a disturbing deterioration away from Biblical belief.

As Socialism Rises In America, Mike Johnson Warns That ‘The Barbarians Are Inside The Gate’

The Speaker isn’t crying wolf; the threat is real. But the battle to preserve the Republic will not ultimately be won in Congress. There will be legislative fights. There will be elections where your vote could determine the balance of power and whether socialist policies further undermine our freedoms. But if the barbarians are already inside the gate, we need to ask: How did they get in? And how do we get them out?
