A group of Satanists is bedeviling the restrictive new abortion law in Texas.
The Satanic Temple, a religious group based in Salem, Massachusetts, has joined the backlash against the measure, which bans abortion after six weeks and allows anyone to file $10,000 lawsuits against those who help violate it.
The organization lobbied the FDA to provide abortion pills to its Texas members, arguing it qualifies as an exemption as a faith-based group that supports the procedure, according to The San Antonio Current.
The Temple, which pledges to “generate attention and prompt people to reevaluate fears and perceptions,” and “highlight religious hypocrisy and encroachment on religious freedom,” reportedly cited the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which allows Native Americans to use drugs in religious ceremonies.
“I am sure Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton — who famously spends a good deal of his time composing press releases about Religious Liberty issues in other states — will be proud to see that Texas’s robust Religious Liberty laws, which he so vociferously champions, will prevent future Abortion Rituals from being interrupted by superfluous government restrictions meant only to shame and harass those seeking an abortion,” Temple co-founder Lucien Graves reportedly said.
It’s not the first time the Satanists have inserted themselves into the pro-choice discourse.
The 300,000 member atheist church reportedly petitioned the US Supreme Court to overturn Missouri’s strict abortion law last year.
The high court declined to hear the case.
HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?
The Satanic Temple has tried previously to push the claim that Abortion is a ‘Protected’ Religious Ceremony. Last year, TST brazenly insisted that killing an unborn baby in a ‘ritual’ abortion is no different from Christian communion or baptism.
Life News reported:
“The Satanic Temple is proud to announce its Religious Abortion Ritual, a ceremony rooted in our deeply-held beliefs,” the group said in a video announcement on YouTube. “Thyself is thy master. Hail Satan!”
The disturbing announcement is part of the cult’s new plan to overturn pro-life laws using a religious freedom argument.
“Many states have laws that interfere with our members’ ability to practice their religious beliefs,” said Satanic Temple spokesperson Jane Essex. “No Christian would accept a mandatory waiting period before they can partake in communion. No Christian would tolerate a law that insists state counseling is necessary before someone can be baptized. Our members are justly entitled to religious liberty in order to practice our rituals as well.”
This is how the Satanic Temple described its “ritual” for slaughtering unborn babies in surgical abortions:
Prior to receiving any anesthetic or sedation, look at your reflection to be reminded of your personhood and your responsibility to yourself. Focus on your intent. Take deep breaths, and make yourself comfortable. When you are ready, say the Third Tenet and Fifth Tenet aloud. You may now undergo the surgery. After the surgery is completed and any anesthetic has worn off, return to your reflection, and recite your personal affirmation. Feel doubts dissipating and your confidence growing as you have just undertaken a decision that affirms your autonomy and free will. The religious abortion ritual is now complete.
Although this statement regarding “ritual abortion” is shocking, there is a level of accuracy in their description of the satanic nature of abortion.
Cissie Graham Lynch, daughter of Franklin Graham, in a recent article, explained that abortion today is identical to previous cults that practiced child sacrifice; only now, we are sacrificing to the “god of self”:
In the Old Testament, some Israelites were won over to the cult of the pagan god Molech, which required child sacrifice (see Jeremiah 32:35). It turns my stomach to think of turning one’s child over to be burned in an offering to an idol! Yet in a sense, that’s what abortion is all about. Only now, instead of a metal statue with the head of a bull and the body of a man, the idol has become the individual.
Think about it. Very few abortions happen because the life or health of the mother is actually at risk. Rather, women talk about “my life,” “my dreams,” “my choice.” They sacrifice their own babies to the idol of self! The Bible says, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves …” (2 Timothy 3:1-2).
In Scripture, we read: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44 KJV).
