Mike Huckabee: Racism a ‘Spiritual’ Problem for US — & Elections Can’t Solve It

America’s racism problem is more “spiritual” than political, Mike Huckabee said Saturday night.

“The only way to get rid of racism is with God,” the former Arkansas governor told host Jeanine Pirro during an appearance on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

“Why do you say that?” Pirro responded.

“Well, because racism is essentially when I’m disrespecting God and the people that he made who are equal to me,” Huckabee said. “If I really have a good relationship with God and I love him, I can’t help but love the people that he made. And some of them are black and some of them have white in their color and some are Asian and they’re all kinds of people. But he made them all and he didn’t make any of them to be less important than me.”

Racism is solved individually and not by “electing a certain politician,” Huckabee added.

“So if I’ve got a problem with somebody of a different race, my problem is with God. And that’s why I say we’ve got all these people arguing over politics and race and economics and sociology,” Huckabee said. “The real problem is spiritual. And that’s where I feel like that we are failing in this debate — because we think we can resolve it by electing a certain politician.”

“We resolve it individually when we accept the fact that there is nobody on this Earth who is better than I am and there’s nobody on this Earth who is less than me — not because the government said we’re equal, but God did,” the Fox News contributor added.

Pirro asked Huckabee how America got to where it is today regarding social unrest and racism.

Huckabee blamed “selfishness.”

“I think we’re there because we have systematically not just given in to racism, we’ve systematically given into selfishness and everyone becoming his or her own God,” Huckabee said. “That’s really the fundamental problem.”

Shifting Geopolitical Landscape: Examining The ‘Abraham Accords’ Through A Biblical Lens

Because they are frequently mentioned in the news, it’s likely that many people are aware of the Abraham Accords and generally understand their purpose. However, if you were to ask the average person to elaborate on what it means to “normalize relations” with Israel, or what realistically takes place when a country becomes a signatory to the Accords, it’s doubtful that most would be able to confidently answer the question. So, what exactly do these agreements do, and why should we, as Christians, pay attention to them?

Vigilant To Protect: A Pastor’s Responsibility To Call Out False Teachers

I recently watched a minister online. He gave a scathing critique of those who dare call out purveyors of false doctrine. He said we should love our fellow Christians. Paradoxically, he criticized those who criticize others. He seemed intent on inoculating his followers — making them immune to charges of false doctrine against his friends and himself. In one sense, the attack seemed pious. Don’t criticize. Be loving. Be sweet. But Jesus ran the money changers out of the temple.

Political Division, Persecution, And War: How Bible Prophecy Changes Our Perspective On World Affairs

As history hurtles toward the Last Days, we find ourselves trying to navigate through an increasingly hostile world. Politics are dividing our country and even our churches. People are becoming more cold-hearted, selfish, and angry. We are experiencing a breakdown that feels irreversible. Our problems do not have simple solutions, but we can find guidance in Scripture.
