Justifying Murder: Eye-Opening Study Reveals Rapidly Growing ‘Assassination Culture’ In America

img 7499

A study recently conducted by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) and Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab found that half of those classified as politically “left of center” believe the assassination of President Donald Trump (55.2%) and Elon Musk (48.6%) would be at least somewhat justifiable.

Those on the Leftโ€”of the surveyed 1,264 respondentsโ€”also took little issue with the destruction and firebombing of Elon Musk’s Tesla dealerships, with 57.6% likewise believing those actions to be defensible.

“Political violence targeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk is becoming increasingly normalized,” NCRI warned in its introduction of the study’s findings. “Following the July 13, 2024, attempted assassination of President Trump, tolerance – and even advocacy – for political violence appears to have surged, especially among politically left-leaning segments of the population.”

The researchers referred to this disturbing trend as “assassination culture,” which they stated sharply increased following Luigi Mangione’s brazen slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December of last year.

Thompson’s assassination was shockingly applauded by many Democrats, including some California lawmakers who recently put forward a ballot measure in honor of the killer, entitled “the Luigi Mangione Access to Health Care Act.”

Answers In Genesis Founder and CEO Ken Ham, in his article, “Living In A Time When Murderers Are Called Heroes, And God Is Called Hateful,” discussed the startling support received by murderer Luigi Mangione, warning at the time that approval of political assassinations could be next.

Ham pointed to an “egregiously irresponsible statement” made by Elizabeth Warren last December. In reference to Mangione, Warren insisted, “You can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands.”

“Oh, really?” Ham responded. “How about in reference to politicians?”

“Our culture has increasingly abandoned God, deserted God’s Word, thrown Christianity out of the public education system, taught generations of people that there’s no God, and bought into the lie that we are merely animals,” he underscored. “It is no wonder people think: ‘I can do whatever I want. I’ll define right and wrong. If I want to murder, it’s okay for me if I determine it to be the right thing to do. Why not?'”

“It’s morally sick,” Ham continued. “We see Isaiah 5:20 happening in all sorts of ways, and now we see it happening in regard to murder. People are calling murder good, and those who want to condemn murder evil. Who would have ever thought that we would be in that situation?”

NCRI concluded its study by sounding the alarm, urging swift measures to be taken before views of “assassination culture” among Democrats convert into physically violent actions.

“Unless political and cultural leadership explicitly confronts and condemns this trend, NCRI assesses a growing probability of real-world escalation,” the study warned. “These attitudes are not fringeโ€”they reflect an emergent assassination culture, grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse… Continued monitoring and broader measurement efforts are urgently needed.”

The justification of murder is nothing new for the Democrat Party. The slaying of tens of millions of unborn children has been declared acceptable for decades. Ending the lives of the sick, vulnerable, and elderly through assisted suicide has received heavy support. Even the massacre of Jewish people at the hands of Hamas was defended by the Left as justifiable, arguing that the Islamic terrorists were “freedom fighters” standing up to their “Zionist oppressors.”

For that reason, it should be no surprise that the Left would increasingly view political violence against wealthy business owners and politicians as acceptable bloodshed. This is compounded by the fact that many on the Left endorse Marxist/communist policies, which, when implemented in a society, routinely feature the assassination of opposing political voices.

This is the natural progression of a liberal and socialist mindset, which constructs its personalized standards for morality with God excluded from the equation. Many do not understand that neutrality does not fill the void when God is removed. The absence of God is filled by the Devil, whom Jesus testified to be “a murderer from the beginning” (John 8:44).

Americaโ€™s Greatest Need Has Never Rested In Politics Aloneโ€”It Has Always Been Spiritual

As America passed the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, many were asking an important question: What has become of the American Dream? To mark this historic milestone, Elon University in North Carolina conducted a nationwide survey examining how Americans view their nation, its government, and its future. Polls can fluctuate with current events and political climates, but they often reveal something deeper: the hopes, fears, and convictions of ordinary citizens. This survey paints a sobering picture.

Is Genesis Too Controversial To Preach From The Pulpit? Too Many Pastors Say ‘Yes’

Over the years, Iโ€™ve had so many pastors tell me that they avoid preaching the early chapters of Genesis in their churches because itโ€™s just too controversial and can cause division. To avoid ruffling feathers, many pastors avoid it, or if they must teach those early chapters, they are often very vague, not taking a position on Genesis or presenting all the positions and letting their congregation choose for themselves. But this approach has had major negative consequences!

Called Out From The Culture: The Hope For America Is The Church

I believe that the hope for America is the churchโ€”God working through his church. Christians need to live up to their name. As Christ followers, we need to be Christlike. And if the church would be what it was meant to be, then it would change our nation. But letโ€™s localize it. If your church would be what it ought to be, it could change your city. It could change your county, and it could change your state. Letโ€™s localize it even more. If you would be what you ought to be as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a part of the church, then what a difference it could make in your church.
