Jerusalem’s security establishment is said to have readjusted its position following extensive deliberations with Washington.
This, according to the Yisrael Hayom daily, reporting that Israel has shifted its view that the stockpiling of enough fissile material for a single nuclear payload would mandate action against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities, to the American view that other options should only be considered when Tehran has acquired the ability to build and deliver a functioning atomic warhead.
The prevailing assessment among Israeli officials is that it will take the Iranians between 18 to 24 months to achieve that fuller capability, whereas it would take merely weeks to amass fissile material to produce a single nuclear payload, said the report.
