Black Trump Supporter Prays for the President; Encourages Daily Prayer during current Political/Spiritual Battle

SOURCE: (Daily Caller)

Ephesians 6:12 KJV – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

As young black leaders gathered Friday in the White House for the Young Black Leadership Summit, one voice split the room asking for a moment to pray for President Donald Trump.

Turning Point USAโ€™sย Benny Johnson shared video of what happened when the president brought the young woman to the podium. Mahalet, once an abandoned, impoverished orphan from Ethiopia, earned smiles and cheers from the president and the gathered crowd.

โ€œIโ€™m not really good with prayers or anything like that but I just want to say thank you, Mr. President, and I know we have a political warfare right now, but I strongly believe that it is a spiritual one as well,โ€ Mahalet said to cheers from theย crowd.

โ€œAnd I want to make sure that I mean, I know that Americans are gonna wake up and weโ€™re gonna get back to looking to God instead of social media and weโ€™re gonna look back to Jesus because Jesus saves and this country was founded upon the Constitution, was built on Godly principles and weโ€™re gonna fight for that,โ€ she said. โ€œAnd I just want to encourage you guys to pray every day for this nation.โ€

โ€œDear God, Iโ€™m not really good at this,โ€ Mahalet laughed. โ€œBut I just want to say thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to be in the White House. Thank you for giving us a great leader like Trump, Mr. Donald Trump, and I would like to thank you for waking up our nation.โ€

She continued, asking God for protection both for the nation and for theย president, adding, โ€œGod, I believe that you gave him to us and I believe that heโ€™s gonna accomplish so much more. I know you have more for us.โ€

โ€œJesus I ask you to protect us and walk with us and in Jesusโ€™ name the enemy tries to attack us every single day,โ€ Mahalet concluded. โ€œHe tries to discourage us but he has no room. ย He has no room, no more, and thatโ€™s all I have to say.โ€

Embracing A Lasting Faith: Acts Of Premeditated Evil Shock America, But The Packed Churches Don’t Last Long

I recall preaching the Sunday after the 9/11 attacks, and the church was packed. The churches remained full โ€” for a few weeks. There were prayer meetings, and we rediscovered a sense of shared national identity, putting aside our group identities โ€” for a few weeks. Similarly, a year ago, when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, I was preaching the following Sunday, and the church was filled. Prayer meetings were called as people, young and old, attempted to make sense of the evil and violence that is now commonplace. Both events revealed how fragile the world and life are and showed that Americans still knew where to turn. But reacting to momentary fear is not the same as embracing lasting faith.

Greg Laurie: The Unique Spiritual Moment I Saw At The World Trade Center Two Days After The Attack

Just two days after the attack, I was on site at the World Trade Center. The smoke was still rising from the smoldering ruins. A makeshift cross had been erected in the midst of it. There was shrapnel in the buildings around it. And on the walls were posters with images of missing people. Sadness permeated everything. We fed people there and supported the work of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which had set up booths throughout New York City, offering prayer.

Boldly Reaching The ‘Hopeless Generation’: Charlie Kirkโ€™s Legacyโ€”One Year After His Death

Two months after Charlie was murdered, we went to the very campus where it happenedโ€”Utah Valley Universityโ€”and held a Harvest Crusade. We saw many peopleโ€”college studentsโ€”give their lives to Jesus Christ. I believe this is a watershed momentโ€”a turning point, especially for the younger generation. Young people, this is your moment. Itโ€™s time to stop trying to fit in and be cool. Instead, be bold and courageous. In fact, that may be the coolest thing you can do. Charlie was bold about his faith to the very end, and so should we be.
