Barry Stagner: Helpless, Innocent Human Babies Are A Reason For Praising God

Psalm 8:1-2 KJV – “O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”

Nothing in the world requires more attention than a human child, yet here David states that from the mouths of babies and nursing infants God has ordained strength and silenced the enemy! Matthew 21:14-16 ends with the chiefs and scribes, who were upset that children were crying out “Hosanna to the Son of David” in the temple, being rebuked by Jesus, who asked, “Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” (This indicates that praise was being offered to the Lord in the face of God’s enemies, as Psalm 8 describes.

In verse 1, David looks all the way back to creation as a source of praise, and we, too, should praise our Creator to silence the enemies of creation who strike out at God and the idea of creation in hatred. In verse 2, David also points to helpless, innocent human babies as a reason for praising God.

Genesis 1:27-28 tells us that “God created man in His own image . . . male and female He created them.” Evolution could never have resulted in a human child. Think of it! A baby is far too complex, too needy, to possibly survive without the attention of a mother. And there had to be a mother and a father to produce the child, which would have required two fully formed adult humans—a male and a female—either through science’s theory of “punctuated equilibrium,” or the miracle of “In the beginning God . . .”

Think about it. Which perspective gives you a greater respect for life: 1) you came from nowhere, your life means nothing, and neither will your death, because you were just part of the evolutionary process without purpose or meaning, or 2) you were fearfully and wonderfully made in the image and likeness of God, who has a purpose for your life and has made a way for you to live in endless perfection with Him forever?

I’m going with the Bible on this one! I don’t want to stake my future on a fairy tale. How about you?

Denying The Jewish People’s Connection To Jerusalem Would Be Laughable… If So Many Nations Didn’t Believe It

In December 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to implement the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995. He recognized Jerusalem as the official capital of the State of Israel, which calls for Jerusalem to remain an undivided city, and ordered the federal government to relocate the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem—a move timed to help celebrate Israel’s 70th birthday. The UN General Assembly then countered with the “Status of Jerusalem” resolution—which passed 128 to 9, with 35 abstentions—denying the Jewish people’s connection to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

Global Tensions Expose The Vast Contrast Between Human Hope And God’s Promises

In the Bible, hope is closely connected to waiting. Not waiting in the sense that we are still uncertain about the outcome, but steadfastly waiting because we fully expect the outcome God promised in His Word. In other words, man’s definition of hope carries doubt. God’s does not. As such, Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we may base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises.

Prophetic Pieces: As Putin Ups The Ante In The Arms Race, Russia Considers Providing Refuge To Top Iranian Leaders

Prophetic events in the end times right now are casting their shadows over the Middle East like never before. Preparations for the Gog Magog coalition prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39 are increasing and intensifying. Written 2,500 years ago by Ezekiel, these chapters prophesy an end-time invasion of Israel led by the nations of Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Two significant developments showcase that the prophetic pieces are falling perfectly into place.
