As Communism Gains Ground, Trump Renews America’s ‘National Promise’ To Oppose ‘One Of History’s Most Destructive Ideologies’

Breanna Claussen

As communism continues to gain ground in the worldview of democrats—a reality showcased through the recent election of Zorhan Mamdani to be New York City Mayor—President Trump took the historic step of signing a proclamation declaring “Anti-Communism Week” to highlight “one of history’s most destructive ideologies.”

The Proclamation declared November 2 through November 8 as “anti-communism week,” with the President reiterating the United States’ commitment to ensure that communist systems “find their place, once and for all, on the ash heap of history.”

“Across continents and generations, communism has wrought devastation upon nations and souls,” the President’s Proclamation emphasized. “More than 100 million lives have been taken by regimes that sought to erase faith, suppress freedom, and destroy prosperity earned through hard work, violating the God-given rights and dignity of those they oppressed.”

“As we honor their memory, we renew our national promise to stand firm against communism, to uphold the cause of liberty and human worth, and to affirm once more that no system of government can ever replace the will and conscience of a free people,” the statement continued. “For more than a century, communism has brought nothing but ruin. Wherever it spreads, it silences dissent, punishes beliefs, and demands that generations kneel before the power of the state instead of standing for freedom. Its story is written in blood and sorrow, a grim reminder that communism is nothing more than another word for servitude.”

A recent survey placed a spotlight on Americans’ confusion on the topic of Communism. While only 14% of respondents strongly viewed communism favorably—an alarming number in its own right—a whopping 43% said the same for socialism, which directly mirrors communist doctrine.

In his Proclamation, the President went on to acknowledge the disturbing rise of this dangerous ideology in America, warning that a growing number of politicians are giving new life to old lies.

“New voices now repeat old lies, cloaking them in the language of ‘social justice’ and ‘democratic socialism,’ yet their message remains the same: give up your freedom, place your trust in the power of the government, and trade the promise of prosperity for the empty comfort of control,” he cautioned. “America rejects this evil doctrine. We remain a Nation founded on the eternal truth that liberty and opportunity are the birthrights of every person, and that no ideology, whether foreign or domestic, can extinguish them.”

The creation of “Anti-Communism Week” is an essential step in educating Americans about the reality of communism, coming at a time when many are obliviously running into the trap of its false promises.

Dr. David Reagan, in his article, “Legalized Theft: The Dangerous Socialist Movement Once Again Rears Its Ugly Head In America,” rightly noted that the rise of communist ideology can be directly linked to a society’s secularization.

“How can this resurrection of Socialism be explained? It relates to the rapid secularization and paganization of American society in recent years, especially since the election of President Barack Obama in 2008,” Reagan explained. “During that campaign, Obama made a promise ‘to spread the wealth around.'”

“Socialism always flourishes in a secular society,” he stressed. “And the reason is simple. Here’s how Robert Knight of the American Civil Rights Union has explained it: ‘… Socialism goes hand in hand with abandoning God and worshiping the idol of an ever-growing government.'”

“Bernie Sanders promised that government would become the National Nanny by providing every need,” Reagan continued. “He promised free college, free health care, and another $10 trillion in federal spending. When considering such reckless promises, Robert Knight asked, ‘What’s not to like if you view government as an ATM machine for all your needs?’ Or, to put it another way, ‘Who needs God when government will supply everyone’s needs at someone else’s expense?'”

“History attests to the fact that people are always willing to surrender their freedoms for the promise of security,” he concluded. “That is exactly what Socialism does.”

In A World Filled With Theological Confusion, Christians Must Be Ready To Confront False Teaching

Finding a good church is hard. Most people looking for a church these days desire one that’s welcoming with a genuine community atmosphere, authentic leaders, music that resonates, engaging family and youth programs, is not too far of a drive, and has services at convenient times. But above all these factors, many newcomers prioritize whether the teaching is accurate, understandable, and relevant to their lives. Preaching is one of the highest factors affecting whether someone decides to call a local church their home or move on to the next one down the street.

A Winning Political Strategy?: JD Vance Opts To Appease Dangerous Anti-Israel Conspiracies

As antisemitism ingrains itself deeper into the Democrat Party, and many young republicans follow behind, taken captive by the conspiracies of Tucker Carlson, Candice Owens, and others, recent statements by Vice President JD Vance have shown that he is more than willing to feed into the trend. On an episode this week of the “Joe Rogan Experience,” Vance seemed eager to brand himself as the “reasonable moderate” voice, repeatedly calling Israel an ally while simultaneously proping up outlandish theories directed against the Jewish State.

Called Out From The Culture: The Hope For America Is The Church

I believe that the hope for America is the church—God working through his church. Christians need to live up to their name. As Christ followers, we need to be Christlike. And if the church would be what it was meant to be, then it would change our nation. But let’s localize it. If your church would be what it ought to be, it could change your city. It could change your county, and it could change your state. Let’s localize it even more. If you would be what you ought to be as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a part of the church, then what a difference it could make in your church.
