As Christians Go To The Polls, We Must Remember: The Future Of Our Nation Is At Stake

Franklin Graham

In just a few days, our nation will hold one of the most consequential elections in decades. Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to cast their ballots for the next president of the United States, as well as for many crucial congressional, state and local offices.

The future of our nation is at stake. America has drifted far from the Biblical values that once stood as our rock-solid foundation. In so many ways, we have turned our back on God, and the results have been devastating.

Progressive, liberal thought and activism have so contaminated the mainstream of American life and culture that once-unthinkable abominations such as same-sex marriage, abortion on demand and transgender advocacy have become dogma in one major partyโ€™s platform.

Our dangerous plight reminds me of Isaiahโ€™s warning to apostate Israel, which had abandoned allegiance to Almighty God and instead adopted the godless culture of surrounding nations. โ€œWoe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!โ€ (Isaiah 5:20).

Be warned, if we continue down this rebellious path, our nation will reap the bitter fruit of blatant immorality that shakes its fist in the face of God. Remember, we reap what we sow, more than we sow, later than we sow. โ€œWhoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destructionโ€ (Galatians 6:8, NIV).

Beneath that surface lies a profound danger. These systems are not counselors. They have no conscience, no soul, no accountability before God or man. They are prediction engines trained on the assumptions of a secular digital culture โ€” and they are increasingly filling a role that God designed for parents, pastors, and human community.

Moral Inconsistency: In Abortion Up To Birth Minnesota, Lawmakers Argue For ‘Inherent Right to Life’… For Rice

If you heard someone say a bill would โ€œrecognize the .ย .ย . inherent right to live,โ€ you might assume the speaker was referring to the inherent, God-given right that unborn babies have to life. But you would be wrong in this case, as this statement was recently made about .ย .ย . wild rice. This story just highlights the inconsistency that happens when people abandon the truth ofย Godโ€™s Word and worship the creature, rather than the Creator.

Roll Your Eyes All You Want… The Rapture Is Real

Is the Rapture real? Thereโ€™s always debate around this topic. Letโ€™s start with the obvious: the Rapture sounds crazy. Jesus descends from Heaven, dead people rise from their graves, and living believers are suddenly caught up into the skyโ€”like the worldโ€™s strangest episode of โ€œStranger Things.โ€ Sounds like the stuff your uncle mutters about after three cups of church coffee. Exceptโ€”the Rapture is right there in Scripture. Paul says it. John says it. Jesus says it.
