Anti-Christian Hate Crimes Rose 70 Percent in Europe Between 2019 and 2020, Study Finds

According to a new study by the Observatory on Intolerance Against Christians in Europe (OIDAC), anti-Christian hate crimes in Europe rose by 70 percent between 2019 and 2020.

The OIDAC, a Vienna-based watchdog organization, published a report this month highlighting the declining religious freedom, freedom of conscience and parental rights European Christians are facing.

Citing the annual hate crimes report by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the OIDAC noted that there were 981 anti-Christian hate crimes committed in Europe last year compared to the 578 in 2019.

“This meant an increase of 70 percent in anti-Christian hate crime since last year,” the OIDAC said in the report. “[O]ur numbers speak louder than our words. This is one of the reasons OIDAC was founded over ten years ago, because there was no other organisation reporting and raising awareness on this phenomenon in Europe.”

Amid rising “secular intolerance” and “Islamic oppression,” the study considered the hate crimes towards Christians in France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

“These countries were selected because, according to our observations, Christians face the most difficulties in them,” the OIDAC explained. “The findings of the report are based on a variety of data we collected. The majority of our data is based on descriptive cases, an extensive questionnaire and in-depth interviews with experts and afflicted Christians.”

While hate crimes were more frequent in France and Germany, they were harsher in Spain and France, the organization added.

The report also found that the U.K. had the highest number of prosecuted “hate speech” cases. Meanwhile, Christians’ right to conscientiously object is being threatened in Sweden, France and Spain.

“The absence of the conscience clause in Sweden is already affecting Christian professionals, and intentions to alter this clause in France and Spain could lead to a complete exclusion of Christians in certain professions,” the OIDAC warned.

According to The Christian Post, the report contends that the opposition to conservative Christian moral views results in secular intolerance.

“This polarization also appears to be promoted by sensationalist and religious-illiterate media that stigmatizes and marginalizes religious voices in the public debate,” the report added.

Last July, the OIDAC found that anti-Christian incidents rose by about 285 percent over the past 12 years.

Commenting on the report, the head of OIDAC in Vienna said that “medially and politically, hatred of Christians is hardly noticed as an increasingly obvious social problem.”

“The OSCE report reflects only part of this trend, which we have been documenting for years,” she explained, “and yet it is a loud wake-up call against indifference and fashionable Christian-bashing.”

As just one example of growing hostility towards Christains in Europe, the OIDAC reported that on December 4th a church in Germany was severely hit by vandels who caused over $11,000 (USD) worth of damage. The destruction included “more than 20 windows, some of which had high-quality stained glass,” according to the group.

The Pastor of the Chruch, Dr Christoph Dinkel, stated that “the perpetrator or perpetrators probably entered the church via the scaffolding and broke four windows. Then they destroyed everything in their path: they broke open cupboards, threw a cupboard door from the gallery into the church hall, tore Bibles from the shelves, threw them around. They pushed pews out of their anchors, smashed a door in the gallery.”

The group’s reports have also included wide spread arson, vandalism, and the public demonization of Christians by politicians, universities, companies and governments in Europe.

We are told in Scripture that the increasing hostility toward believers would be a key characteristic of the time prior to Jesus Return. 2 Timothy 3 describes a time in which “men of corrupt minds” will “resist the truth” and be “reprobate concerning the faith” (2 Timothy 3:8-9). This point is also underscored later in the chapter when it states that in that time “all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).

As Biblical Christianity Weakens In The West, More People Turn To The Occult To Fill The Gap

As biblical Christianity weakens in America and the West, more people turn to occult practices to fill the gap. People naturally want to worship. If they reject the true God, they often look for spiritual answers somewhere else. This is why we see more interest in astrology, tarot cards, witchcraft, spirit guides, meditation, New Age ideas, manifestation, and the paranormal. Surprisingly, studies show that many people who say they are Christians now take part in practices the Bible clearly forbids.

New Louisiana Laws Send A Clear Message: Churches And Synagogues Are Not Fair Game For Disruptive Political Theater

Months after protesters stormed a Minnesota church, turning a sacred space into a scene of chaos, Louisiana is taking decisive action to shield its own congregations from similar threats. Gov. Jeff Landry (R) has signed two bills designed to safeguard the sanctity of worship and ensure that prayer and reflection are not interrupted by intimidation or disorder. “In Louisiana,” said Landry, “we are committed to maintaining the right to worship without interference, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding religious liberty. With the signing of these two bills, those protections just became stronger.”

Prophetic Pieces: As Putin Ups The Ante In The Arms Race, Russia Considers Providing Refuge To Top Iranian Leaders

Prophetic events in the end times right now are casting their shadows over the Middle East like never before. Preparations for the Gog Magog coalition prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39 are increasing and intensifying. Written 2,500 years ago by Ezekiel, these chapters prophesy an end-time invasion of Israel led by the nations of Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Two significant developments showcase that the prophetic pieces are falling perfectly into place.
