Jack Hibbs: Because Jesus Came In Our Likeness, We Can Find Comfort In All Life’s Encounters

Philippians 2:6-7 KJV – “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

Surgeon Robert Selzer tells of a case where in removing a tumor, he was forced to cut a tiny nerve in the cheek of a young woman. The result left her mouth twisted and paralyzed. As the doctor explained the results to her newlywed husband, he asked if her mouth would be like this for long. Doctor Selzer replied, “I’m afraid it will be that way forever.”

The young man approached his wife, smiled, and said, “Good, it looks kind of cute.” Then he leaned over and twisted his lips to meet hers. Selzer went on to say he realized that this man had a love for his wife that made them one, as he chose to become as she was.

Jesus entered this world so that we could identify with Him in every way.

What that man did out of love was done long before by the man Jesus Christ. We call His act of love the incarnation—the coming of God to the world, in human form. The God of All became a man so small! Jesus entered this world in the body of a little infant so we could identify with Him in every way.

Have you ever felt rejected or abandoned? Jesus can say He has too. If you have been the recipient of a bad deal or the scorn of others, Jesus says to you that He has as well. Jesus came in our likeness, and in doing so, we can find comfort in all life’s encounters.

Dear believer, Jesus knows!

Awaiting His return,

– Pastor Jack

Debunking Popular Lies About The Pre-Tribulation Rapture

One of the most unpopular beliefs among Christians today is that of the pre-Tribulation Rapture. Many not only scoff at our expectation of meeting Jesus in the air, but also ridicule those of us who believe it could happen at any moment.

Truth Has Become A Casualty In Modern Journalism

Journalism once provided truthful insight into the news of the day. Follow-up exposés were common as more information became available. Readers were encouraged and enabled to understand the implications of the facts surrounding the news and arrive at a well-informed perspective. Those days are long past.
