The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is reported to have targeted Iranian-backed interests on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, as well as Damascus; Multiple casualties reported; Additional strike in eastern Syria.

In what has already been a very active week for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has carried out multiple strikes on Iranian-sponsored targets in the last 48 hours. Airstrikes are reported to have occurred in the area of Damascus, as well as the Syrian side of the Golan Heights. And later in the day on Wednesday, another strike took place in the eastern Syrian city of Al-Bukamal – perhaps the most notorious region for Israeli strikes in the last year.

Concerning the attack that took place on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, reports indicate that structural damage took place, as well as eight Iranian-backed casualties. Also hit in this series of attacks that ranged from the Golan Heights to Damascus was Iranian military outposts, surface-to-air missile vehicles, military barracks, and other Iranian interests.

As for the attack on Wednesday evening in the eastern Syrian city of Al-Bukamal, the extent of the damage is largely unknown as of yet. However, more Iranian-backed fighters from Iraq are believed to have been killed.

With much talk surrounding the US Election’s possible outcome, Iran has become emboldened in the region, banking on a Biden win. The Islamic republic is eager to be rid of President Trump’s immense pressure and sanctions on the terror funding country.

Under a possible Biden administration, Iran will be given incredible leeway to move forward in its efforts against Israel, just as was the case under the Obama. Iran has increasingly been advancing those efforts by way of Syria, using the war-torn country to house weaponry to attack the Jewish State, which has resulted in multiple Israeli strikes (including the one that occurred today).

In Isaiah 17, we are told that in the last days, Damascus, the capital city of Syria, will be completely destroyed. Although we are not told how this will happen or by whom, Syria has become a hotbed of activity in the Middle East that those familiar with Bible Prophecy have been watching very closely.

Isaiah 17:1 KJV – “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”

Damascus’s destruction could also be a catalyst to the Ezekiel 38-39 war in-which Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others come together from the north, with weaponry supplied by Russia, to attack the Jewish state.
