You may have seen cars with bumper stickers on them with the word COEXIST. There is a subtle though clear message tucked away behind this single word. The message is that religion is the problem behind many or even all of the world’s problems. We’re told that if religious groups could just “celebrate the common ground” between them and tolerate their differences, the world would be a better place. Sadly, the T in COEXIST is in the form of the cross, and thus Christianity is lumped together with some other religions represented by symbols that coincide with the other letters in the word. The Christian message of “love your enemies and do good to those who hate you” is lumped in with other religions, including one that has been known for religious extremism since its inception. While all religions have their extremists, Islam is more known for adherents that exhibit extremist behavior than other groups.
For those who might be thinking, What about the Christian Crusades?, a short run through history will remind us the Crusaders were taking back cities and countries taken by force from them by the Muslims. That didn’t justify their behavior, but that was their motivation.
The spiritual basis behind the trend to get religious groups to set aside their differences is to prepare the world for the religion of beast worship that arises during the tribulation, which we see described in Revelation 13: “They worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, toblaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with thesaints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell onthe earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:4-8).
The world is fast moving toward pushing for the extinction of the one true “religion of peace” due to Christianity’s claim to be the only path to heaven and its moral code, which runs contrary to the flow of popular thought. To see just how delusional our world has become, consider the way that many politicians and world leaders are protecting and even promoting the practice of Islam, which refuses to submit to non-Muslim governmental systems and is not simply a religion but a political system as well and promotes Sharia law. Yet Western society blindly demands the coexistence of all belief systems while pushing for the extinction of the one that stands for truth, the Christian faith.
The world is readying itself for the ministry of the false prophet and his global religious system. The pump is being primed by people’s demands that all religions be viewed as equal and that adherents of every religion respect the beliefs of others. This will never happen, and the only solution is for people to develop a one-world religion. The world is making itself ready for the greatest deception in all of human history: the pseudo-peace that will be offered to the world through the worship of the antichrist.
While it is clear that today’s growing call for religious ecumenism is setting the stage for a one-world religion, what is often overlooked is the nature of that final global religion. It will not be Catholicism blended with Islam blended with Buddhism, like many have purported. Revelation 13 makes it clear that the global religion of the tribulation will be Satan worship. Everyone whose name is not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will worship the dragon who empowers and gives global authority to the beast. Imagine a world filled with Satan worshippers, and you can easily arrive at an understanding of why the tribulation saints will be hated to the degree that people prefer to see them dead. After all, their“god” only comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10).
