Are European Jewish identity and freedom circling the drain? How much longer before we see a mass exodus to Eretz Yisrael, forced by the unlivable conditions experienced in Europe? Norway was trying to pass a law in mid-September 2026 that would criminalize anyone doing business with Israeli settlements in Judea/Samaria (also known as the West Bank). The law is currently being discussed in the Norwegian Parliament. Even if it doesn’t pass right now, it is a symptom of a much bigger problem; Jews and those supporting them are slowly being outlawed. If passed, that law would give Norway the right to incarcerate people for up to three years. When I first heard of that, I got very concerned. As it turned out, the virus is spreading fast and reaching other parts of Europe.
The Netherlands joined in and decided to push the envelope further. The country of Anne Frank and Corrie Ten Boom, where only 25% of its Jews survived the Holocaust, has had a tremendous opportunity to redeem the past, and they are failing miserably. They have just started a ban on all imports from Judea and Samaria. Confiscation, fines, and possibly up to six years in prison are now a reality. Israeli travelers and tourists returning from Israel are currently being stopped and searched at the Amsterdam airport. How serious is this? Well, Israel was quick to revoke diplomatic credentials from Dutch officials in the territories. That’s how serious they think it is!
For the last twenty years, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement has tried to push people away from doing business with Israel. They used all sorts of lies and intimidation tactics, sometimes even leading to violence, but they never received serious government support like today. They tried to influence and condition people through all sorts of propaganda against Israel, but never did a government threaten to arrest Jews or their friends for conducting business with Judea and Samaria. By the way, is it acceptable to make purchases from that area from “Palestinians” or “Palestinian Christians”? Can I do business in Bethlehem, Jericho, or Nazareth without running the risk of sanctions? How will the authorities enforce the ban? How did we even get here?
In my most recent review of the classic work by Lucy Dawidowicz, “The War Against the Jews”, I was reminded that Hitler came to power legally on January 30, 1933, when President Paul Von Hindenburg made him the new Chancellor of Germany. Within a month, Hitler was already issuing emergency decrees that would slowly undermine the constitution, eventually replacing it with a complete dictatorship of terror. Hitler needed two-thirds of the votes in the Reichstag to be able to control everything. He wanted to control Communists, Socialists, Unionists, and Jews. He needed to pass what is now known as the Enabling Act. While not everybody would join Hitler, on March 23, 1933, the Enabling Act was passed with 441 votes, and Hitler’s career of evil was launched. It only took him eight weeks to seize power and control Germany. Nobody saw it coming until it was too late, and we have learned nothing from it all.
While he opened the first concentration camp in March of1933 inside an old ammunition factory in Dachau to contain Communists, Socialists, and Unionists, his real agenda was the Jews. It was only a matter of time before it became nearly impossible to survive as a Jew in most of Europe. With the exception of those who helped rescue and shelter Jewish families, the continent became the headquarters for Satan’s army of willing executioners. This all happened legally. This is known as the salami effect. Thin slices representing people’s rights were being cut off the salami of Western civilization. Before people realized it, the salami was almost all gone!
Norway wants to pass a law against Israeli imports from Judea and Samaria punishable by prison. The Netherlands has set up a ban and is searching luggage at airports. Incidentally, you don’t even have to be Jewish to be caught in “the act” of supporting the settlements. This is what I have been calling collateral antisemitism.
More countries are involved in this move to destabilize, demonize, and delegitimize Israel while criminalizing her friends. Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Poland, Portugal and Sweden have also considered restrictions. Each country moves at the speed of its own government, fueled by its own irrational hatred of Israel, but eventually they will all line up against us (Zechariah 12:3).
America has already elected a Red/Green Axis Mayor in New York who is not shy about his hatred of Israel. More candidates are sprouting out all over the USA, as most of the country is committing suicide by political correctness. Melanie Phillips said it best regarding Britain, and it could be applied to the USA very soon: “Britainโs long-standing appeasement of Islamists is suicidal imbecility.”
We are back in a 1932 pre-Holocaust stage. State-sponsored antisemitism seemed so utopian just a few years ago. Do nothing and unlawful Jewishness will soon be the norm, and yet, there have always been those coming to our rescue at any price, like the family of Righteous Gentiles who rescued and sheltered my mother before the Nazis would send her to the camps. Can I count on the new righteous among the nations? We are you; we need you right now!
