US Supreme Court Steps in After Months of California Discrimination Against Churches

The US Supreme Court took action Thursday in a move that’s giving new hope to churches and pastors in California who haven’t been able to meet due to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s efforts to block church gatherings.

The high court tossed a lower federal court ruling that had denied California churches a chance to make their case.

It comes after the Supreme Court recently ruled that New York state violated the First Amendment rights of churches and synagogues. This latest move now forces the lower court to follow the New York ruling as it reexamines California’s harsh coronavirus restrictions against religious services.

Liberty Counsel, which is representing churches in California, says, “The restrictions against places of worship in California are more severe than those in New York. Governor Gavin Newsom’s orders ban ALL in-person worship for 99.1 percent of Californians.”

The Supreme Court’s California order comes in the case of Pasadena-based Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry, which has more than 160 churches across the state.

“Irreparable harm is being suffered every day as the churches remain subject to the unconstitutional restrictions, coupled with daily criminal threats, fines, and closure,” Liberty Counsel contends.

California’s Gov. Newsom has banned indoor worship, including singing and chanting. He’s being accused of religious discrimination because he hasn’t applied the same standards and capacity limits to warehouses, big-box centers, shopping malls, liquor stores, fitness centers, and museums.

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court provides great relief for churches and places of worship. The handwriting is now on the wall. The final days of Governor Gavin Newsom’s ‘color-coded executive edicts’ banning worship are numbered and coming to an end. It is past time to end these unconstitutional restrictions on places of worship.”

Under The Guise Of Progressive Inclusivity, California Accepts Another Islamic Trojan Horse

For the progressive lawmakers backing the bill, the payoff is clear: it secures political capital, virtue-signals adherence to the tenets of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and appeases well-funded religious advocacy groups. But beneath the surface lies a calculated subversion of Western principles and a fundamental blindness to the spiritual warfare at play. Do not be misled, this is not being done out of the goodness of anyone’s heart.

Western Civilization Depends On Ensuring That The Monsters Who Seek Our Destruction Never Prevail

As a practitioner, I can say confidently: America does not go looking for or create monsters to destroy, nor should it. During my time as Secretary of State, we didn’t start a single war and instead deterred many through American strength. Sometimes when we fight monsters, we do so ineffectively, or half-heartedly, or do not use the correct strategy or tools necessary to defeat them. But the nature of the world and our place in it has made our willingness to fight monsters when they rear their ugly heads an essential guarantor of our security and freedom.

Jan Markell: Is Israel’s Spiritual Blindness A Reason For Christians To Reject Them?

Ezekiel 36 emphasizes that when the Jews return to the land, they will do so in unbelief. There will be spiritual regeneration much later! The dry bones of Ezekiel 37 reflect a lack of breath or spiritual life. God states he is gathering them back “not for your sake but for my holy name’s sake,” because their presence among the nations caused his name to be profaned. Ezekiel 36 promises that once back in the land, God will cleanse them, give them a new spirit, and cause them to walk in his statutes. But much later.
