Recognizing ‘Palestine’ As A State In The Aftermath Oct. 7 Would Reward The Worst Kind Of Evil

Hal Lindsey

Axios and certain other media outlets have recently reported that the State Department is considering recognizing Palestine as a state. There are a host of reasons why thatโ€™s a bad idea. One of the worst is this โ€” it rewards terrorism. It rewards the very worst in human behavior.

The idea is that the United States would make this move soon after Israelโ€™s campaign in Gaza ends โ€” and US pressure to end the campaign is already enormous. Hamas would then be able to say to every terror group in the world, โ€œHereโ€™s how you get the really big concessions. Kill, mutilate, rape, burn people to death, and take lots of innocents as hostages.โ€

To recognize a state of Palestine in the aftermath of their October terror attacks on Israel, would encourage every rogue group on earth to follow that wicked path. It would bring chaos to this planet, the likes of which have never been seen before!

For decades, the United States has called for a two-state solution in the Holy Land. But the US has said such a solution must be predicated on negotiation among the people who live there, and that it cannot be imposed from the outside. But the present administration seems to be considering a radical change in that policy. How radical? The Biden Administration is reportedly considering imposing a new state of Palestine in a Middle East where terms and borders have not been negotiated, much less implemented. The plan is to go in the opposite direction from previous US policy and impose this โ€œpeace planโ€ from the outside, from far-off Washington.

The Palestinian goal has not changed from the PLOโ€™s beginning. They want the complete annihilation of the State of Israel and the genocide of Jews around the world. They have tried to do it by sheer force, but even with the help of invading Arab armies, they have failed every time. They have now made it clear that they are willing to accomplish their goal in stages.

A key stage in that campaign is recognition of Palestine as a state by the United Nations. In 2012, they were accepted by the UN as โ€œan observer state,โ€ but the US has blocked the UN from giving full recognition to Palestine. 139 of the UNโ€™s 193 member states have given full recognition to โ€œPalestine,โ€ a nation that has never existed in all of world history.

Some things are known by everyone in the world โ€” known by instinct, intuition, and by experience. One is that if you reward a behavior, you will get more of it. We all know thatโ€™s true. Thatโ€™s why we reward puppies with treats and give children words of praise when they do right. Real life proves this idea again and again. The ones who still think itโ€™s a good idea to positively reward evil behavior mostly live in the ivory towers of academia and government.

In the real world, we know that if you donโ€™t want people to break the law, donโ€™t reward lawbreaking. If you donโ€™t want drug addiction, donโ€™t reward drug use. If you donโ€™t want people to cross your borders illegally, donโ€™t reward attempts at illegal immigration. If you donโ€™t want kidnapping, donโ€™t reward kidnappers.

And most of all โ€” if you donโ€™t want terrorism, donโ€™t reward terrorist acts!

The Freedom To Stand On God’s Word: White House Commission Releases 200-Page Report On Safeguarding Religious Liberty

The stories, collected from seven hearings held by the commission, came from parents, students, school teachers, military chaplains, military service members and health care workers, as well as private sector employees and religious institution leaders. Referring to the witnesses, Commissioner Franklin Graham said that there is โ€œa thread that runs through all โ€ฆ these [testimonies], and that is the thread of whatโ€™s right and having the guts to stand for whatโ€™s right.โ€ The report said the witnessesโ€™ โ€œcommitment to stand by their beliefsโ€ has played a โ€œconsequential role in preserving religious liberty for all Americans.

Our Founders Unashamedly Endorsed A Recognition That The Affairs Of Men Are Subject To God’s Overarching Authority

I was alive in 1976, when America celebrated its bicentennial. Now, just fifty years later, many in our own country would rather denounce than celebrate our national heritage. Their scorn is heaped highest on the faith foundations our Founders unashamedly endorsed: reverence for God, respect for the Savior, and a recognition that the affairs of men are subject to His overarching authority. Weโ€™ve come a long wayโ€”in the wrong direction.

Thomas Jeffersonโ€™s ‘Separation Of Church And State’ Never Meant Keeping God Out Of Government

In context, itโ€™s clear this wall of separation was not created to keep religion out of the State. It was simply intended to protect religious freedom and to place boundaries on the Stateโ€™s control over the Church. In fact, the United States Capitol served as a church building for seven decades and Jefferson himself was a regular attendee. He attended so faithfully that he earned a reserved seat. On the Sunday after he wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists, he attended church services at the still-under-construction Capitol.
