‘Outright Antisemitism’: Israel Forced To Opt Out After UN Security Council Schedules Critical Gaza Meeting On Rosh Hashanah

In another blatant display of bias against the Jewish State, Israel’s delegation to the United Nations was forced to opt out of attending an upcoming Security Council meeting on Gaza, due to the UN’s decision to schedule the critical meeting on the Jewish feast of Rosh Hashanah.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, in a letter to the Security Council President, announced that Israel would not be present and emphasized that the Jewish State’s requests to reschedule were ignored.

โ€œDespite Israelโ€™s request to the Presidency and Council members to reschedule, the meeting remains set for that date โ€” one of the most significant in the Jewish calendar, marking the start of the High Holy Days,โ€ Danon wrote. “Itโ€™s unfortunate that the Security Council will meet without Israel.”

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the scheduling by the UN is not only deliberate but a direct result of pressure from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, who were “aggressive in pushing for the Gaza meeting to fall within Rosh Hashanah.” Multiple diplomats are describing the move as “outright anti-Semitism.”

“The United Nations has long had an anti-Israel problemโ€”if not actual outright anti-Semitismโ€”but purposely hosting such a meeting on one of the holiest days for the Jewish community is them going out of their way to exclude Jews who observe Rosh Hashanah and serves as a statement against the worldโ€™s only Jewish state,” a former US diplomat was quoted by the Free Beacon as saying. “When leaders go out of their way to exclude or single out one religious minority, thatโ€™s discriminationโ€”and when itโ€™s the Jewish faith thatโ€™s anti-Semitism.”

The Rosh Hashanah scheduled Security Council meeting comes as a growing list of nationsโ€”including Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Australiaโ€”have announced their recognition of a “Palestinian State,” a move which Israel calls “a prize for Hamas and a reward for terrorism.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saโ€™ar on Sunday scolded the United Nations and world leaders involved in the decision, powerfully stating that they “will be remembered with eternal shame” for their “moral severity and diplomatic error.”

Ambassador Danny Danon called the recognition of Palestine by the nations “empty declarations that ignore reality.”

Erick Stakelbeck, host of The Watchman Newscast, highlighted the prophetic implications of what we see unfolding at the United Nations, specifically as it relates to Zechariah 12:3.

“It’s a pretty explosive situation, and I believe it has major prophetic implications,” Stakelbeck stated. “I think of the book of Zechariah 12, which talks about Jerusalem. These Western nations want to see Jerusalem as the centerpiece of a Palestinian state. Zechariah 12 talks about Jerusalem becoming a burdensome stone that the entire world will come against Jerusalem in the days to comeโ€”and all of them will be ‘cut to pieces’ because they are trying to divide God’s land.”

“They covet God’s one and only eternal city, Jerusalem,” he continued. “Ultimately, it’s not going to work, but expect the pressure to increase.”

Do Conservative Americans Crave The Temporary Societal And Political Blessings More Than We Crave Jesus?

Especially during the countryโ€™s 250th anniversary year, many Christians have fervently prayed for this nation. I, too, am burdened by the sin rotting America from within. I have loved ones who need to be saved. I see churches struggling to survive. I see Christians who arenโ€™t walking closely with the Lord like they once did. I see neighborhoods destroyed by sin. Add to that the sheer insanity and unbridled brokenness filling this nation because its citizens are pursuing their own lusts.ย Oh, what a burden it is to ponder these realities! It is right to take them to God in prayer. I do, and will continue to pray over these things. However, Iโ€™m concerned that some Christians might be praying with the wrong motivation.

โ€˜Treated As Disposableโ€™: Same-Sex Couple Sues Surrogate Who Refused To Abort Baby With Minor Birth Defect

According to the lawsuit, the โ€œintended fathersโ€ย demandedย the termination at 22 weeksโ€™ gestation. When the surrogate mother pushed back, the relationship collapsed. The same-sex couple is now accusing the surrogate of failing to keep them informed about the babyโ€™s health, putting the child at risk, causing emotional distress, and violating confidentialityโ€”all of which the birth mother has denied. As this legal battle unfolds in Canada, it spawns a number of ethical questions regarding the commodification of human life in an era of advancing reproductive technologies.

Called Out From The Culture: The Hope For America Is The Church

I believe that the hope for America is the churchโ€”God working through his church. Christians need to live up to their name. As Christ followers, we need to be Christlike. And if the church would be what it was meant to be, then it would change our nation. But letโ€™s localize it. If your church would be what it ought to be, it could change your city. It could change your county, and it could change your state. Letโ€™s localize it even more. If you would be what you ought to be as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a part of the church, then what a difference it could make in your church.
