Is This The Beginning Of Prophetic Fulfillment, Or Simply A Shadow Of What Is To Come?

Greg Laurie

As we all know, the United States just hit the nuclear reactors in Iran through a very successful military operation authorized by the president. President Trump held a press conference on Saturday night where he thanked our military, the Israelis for their cooperation, and God.

Then, he included something in his speech that kind of surprised me. He simply said, “We love you, God.”

I think his statement gives you an insight into the emotional pressure on the U.S. President. It is an awesome responsibility to sit behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, with the weight of the world on your shoulders, having to make decisions that affect human lives.

I believe the mission to destroy Iran’s nuclear reactors was justified. There is a radical regime in control of Iran. Just as we have our eschatologyโ€”the study of end-times eventsโ€”and believe that our Messiah Jesus is coming, the terror-sponsoring leaders of Iran believe that they have a “messiah” of sorts coming as well. They believe the way to prepare the ground for their “Mahdi” to arrive is by creating chaos, hence their activities around the world supporting terrorist organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

Over 240 Americans have been killed by Iran-backed terrorist organizations, not to mention all of the Israelis who have died at their hands.

The question arises at a time like this: Is this a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? I would say the answer is… maybe. A more precise question might be: Is this the beginning of a prophetic fulfillment, or simply a shadow of whatโ€™s to come? Let me explain.

We ultimately know that after Israel is regathered as a nation in her land, which occurred on May 14th, 1948, a large force from the Prophecy of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38-39 will emerge to attack the Jewish State.

Many, including myself, believe “Magog” is Russia. Significantly, one of the allies marching with Magog is called “Persia,” the former name of Iran before it was changed in 1935.

Persia will one day march against Israel, attempting with a coalition of nations to invade the Jewish State from the north. This has not yet happened. What we do see, however, is an increasing alignment between Russia and Iran, rising tensions, and ongoing hostility between Iran and Israel.

It’s a cause for great prayer. Many believe Christians want to see Armageddon come and war breakโ€”nothing could be further from the truth. We know that wars will come one day, but we hope and pray for peace. In fact, the Bible tells us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

Let’s continue to pray for God’s protection of the United States and Israel. Let’s pray for the leadership of both nations. Pray that God gives our president wisdom as he makes these decisions that affect so many people.

Mother Appeals To Supreme Court After Being Barred From Taking Her Daughter To Calvary Chapels, Exposing Her To The Bible

In December 2024, the Portland District Court ruled that Avaโ€™s father, Matthew Bradeen, would have full control over all religious attendances, includingย โ€œthe right to make final decisions regarding [the daughterโ€™s] participation in other churches and religious organizations.โ€ The court ruled thatย there had been โ€œno showing of harm to [the child] associated with a belief system that is rooted in the Bibleโ€ but found issue with the Biblical teachings of eternal salvation, Heaven, hell, angels and demons as well as teaching the Bible โ€œverse by verse, chapter by chapter.โ€ The Maine Supreme Court ruled that a mother cannot take her 13-year-old daughter to church and cannot โ€œexposeโ€ her to any โ€œreligious philosophy or the Bible in generalโ€ without the approval of the daughterโ€™s father. The mother, Emily Bickford, is seeking an intervention from the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Transhumanist Push: Should We Update Godโ€™s Design?

Modern transhumanists are saying to the Lord of life, โ€œActually, I can do better.โ€ We know God has condemned such impulses, for He condemned Satan for tempting Eve when he told her, โ€œYou will be like Godโ€ (Genesis 3:5). This may sound extreme, but itโ€™s the kind of thinking that undergirds much of the transhumanist movement. Do Christians really support these goals? At what point does the desire to overcome the effects of the Fall go too far? Itโ€™s hard to say. Drawing a hard line between healing and enhancement will not be easy. But the question is important because human beings should not try to meddle with their very nature.

โ€˜A Firm Reliance On The Protection Of Divine Providenceโ€™: Finding The Way Back As One Nation Under God

It is no secret that America has largely turned its back on God. Children are encouraged to find their own truth from a young age, and mentions of God in our public schools are brushed aside or removed. Church attendance is rapidly declining as self-help strategies promise the answers to lifeโ€™s problems. Weโ€™ve traded Divine guidance for subjective truthโ€”โ€œitโ€™s up to me decide what is right and wrong.โ€ And even the concept of biological sex and gender is up to the preference of each individual. It is clear that secularism has infiltrated every aspect of society, and the results are catastrophic. The further we stray from God, the deeper we sink into hopelessness.
