A World Drowning in Information
Many Americans consume news through social media, online videos, podcasts, streaming platforms, and digital news feeds. Traditional newspapers and nightly television broadcasts no longer dominate public conversation. Instead, algorithms determine much of what people see.
The result is an information ecosystem unlike anything previous generations experienced.
Stories compete for clicks instead of accuracy. Emotion often triumphs over evidence. Opinion is frequently presented as fact. Breaking news is reported before facts have been verified. Corrections, when they come, rarely receive the same attention as the original story and the pressure to be first has often replaced the responsibility to be accurate. This environment creates fertile ground for confusion.

Bible prophecy points toward a future world leader who exercises extraordinary influence over the nations. The false prophet performs signs that persuade the world to follow the beast.
Whether these signs involve supernatural power, technological deception, or a combination of both, Scripture makes one point unmistakably clear: The world will believe lies.
Paul writes concerning those who reject God’s truth: “…they did not receive the love of the truth… And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:10โ11). Notice the progression. Reject truth. Accept deception. Believe the lie.
That sequence should be understood by every believer.
Why Christians Must Be Different
Followers of Christ should never become careless consumers of information. Truth is not determined by popularity. It is not determined by political affiliation. It is not determined by social media engagement. Truth is determined by God. Christ declared: “Your word is truth” (John 17:17). Jesus also proclaimed: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

Algorithms learn our preferences and continue feeding us similar content. Over time, individuals can become isolated from differing viewpoints and convinced that everyone agrees with them.
This environment encourages confirmation bias instead of careful investigation. Followers of Christ should resist becoming captive to any echo chamber, whether political, cultural, or religious. Our loyalty belongs first to Christ and His Word.
Truth Requires Courage
Standing for truth has never been easy. The prophets faced opposition. The apostles were imprisoned. Jesus was rejected. Truth has always carried a cost. As society increasingly embraces subjective morality and relative truth, Christians should expect greater pressure to compromise biblical convictions.
Scripture reminds us: “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
